The videos are recommended to me by KZbin totally out of order, and seeing how he talks about her all the time, then see how he mentions her sometimes in past tense now is really heart breaking :( I'm really glad to see you hanging in there Steve. I want to let you know, watching your videos has also in turn helped me cope with loss, and I really do mean that. Thank you for posting your adventures online, these videos honestly really help.

For the last decade I've been a single father of two boys who are now more or less grown up. I still live with the younger one. Steve has inspired me to try many different recipes. So now when I'm asked what's for dinner, I say "Camping with Steve" - meaning something I picked up or adapted from some of Steve's videos. I've discussed with my sons that Steve's videos are a part of manhood which, I believe, is not encouraged. In Australia, we're in lock-down. But as soon as this is lifted, I'm heading bush for my mental health. Keep up the good work.

I completely understand how you feel about having to carry a backpack around. I live and work in the downtown area of San Antonio. I don't have a vehicle and I carry my laptop back and forth to work. I will go into various stores and the employee will tell me that I have to leave my backpack at the front door. The first thing I usually ask is --- if they are going to accept financial responsibility for the contents. I have learned that is a good deterrent in regard to having to leave my backpack at the front door/counter. If they say no, I generally continue on with my shopping.

I also noticed that I've been watching Steve's videos all the way through, just as I did with Stobe's. And like Stobe's, I've now seen every one of them uploaded to KZbin. There's a similarity of philosophy, I suppose. Steve's 'stealth camping' doesn't have the immediate (or eventual, hopefully!), risk of death, as did Stobe's. The worst that might ever happen is Steve gets caught one day. Big whoop. But I enjoy Steve's commentary, just as much. He does what he wants to do (as long as Beautiful Wife authorizes it, I imagine), other than that it's basically a 'no rules' kind of life. I just hope Steve doesn't burn himself out trying to impress his fans. I often wonder if that drove Stobe to continue riding the rails until one day, he got careless. Keep it fun, Steve!

I only stay in a hotel when the girlfriend has a meltdown from camping in the back of the truck (usually 4 days max) while traveling. I am cheap and will never admit this to her but the Merritt is worth every penny. Nice clean rooms and I've yet to not have a great breakfast which is included. There last minute rates are reasonable if they have a vacancies
