I have ryujinx as a standalone app and not emudeck + ryujinx on my SD and wanted to know if it's possible to add it to my sd library. I actually dont want to add it, but then i lose out on the performance metrics and refresh rate . Would really appreciate some tips. Great video btw!

You could add the appimage as non-steam game and launch it there but I would just recommend installing emudeck and use steam rom manager included to create steam shortcuts that boot directly into the game from gaming mode.

It's weird for me, I can run the games on ryujinx directly but then I cannot play it since the inputs is still active on desktops, so whenever I press a button in the game it also presses the button on desktop. In game mode when I try to run it it's not launching though, so I don't think it's a key issue since the game launches on desktop. What could it be?

Try setting input settings in desktop mode but hold the start button for like one second and you should hear a light beep sound. That means your controls are now gamepad mode.

@@valaris31796 did you limit frame rate? Try disable any frame limit or any CPU or GPU limit. Switch emulation needs all the power it can get. I don't feel any input latency with my settings.

Unfortunately, he only does mods for pc's and not steamdeck. But still I'm grateful for your help. Now I followed your ryujinx/emudeck video tutorial and I noticed that ryujinx is more picky when it comes to launching sw***h games. I tested some yuzu games that work, but in ryujinx will only reach the launch page and crash. But my goal is to be able to play princess peach showtime in ryujinx. @@GrownUpGamingGUG I finally fixed and was able to run Princess Peach Showtime on my Steamdeck! 😁 Credits to you for recommending me to check out @Stevens xD channel, and of course @Stevens xD! Apparently, there are 2 separate videos that I need to follow inorder to run this game. One is tweaking the graphics settings and the other is applying the mod patch. Although his video tutorials is for pc, it also works in Steamdeck.🙏

Most mods just put inside the mod directory but you should always check the mod description on how to install.

i don't think there's a difference in power as i always max the performance. i don't do battery tests videos because i don't care about that. for emulation you would always want to maximize the power you got which is 15W on steam deck.

I don't use emulation station. I just use steam rom manager to create steam shortcuts. Maybe check the shortcuts?

F11 is toggle fullscreen button. I normally map that to one of the back buttons so I can access the menu if needed.

So i've tried to bind on another back button the ESC but it just ask me if i want to stop the emulation. I can't find anywhere what button is needed to exit fullscreen.

That joycon problem is globally called "stick drift" and its caused mostly by pressing stick (L3, R3 buttons) ✌🏻

In desktop mode, press and hold the start button for 1 second and you should hear a beep. Your controls will be changed to gamepad mode and you do it again and you should be back to desktop mode.

Problem when using the Steam Rom Manager is, you need to setup it again after every Ryujinx update. Or you will play on a "outdated" build with possible worse performance than a new build...

You can spray some WD40 inside of the joystick on one pair of the joycons, that usually fixes it for a while.

@@GrownUpGamingGUG there is also a second permanent fix (which is what I would do) and that is to buy replacement hall effect joysticks (Gulikit makes them) and swap them out with the intentionally bad ones inside of the joycons. Hall effect joysticks don't get stick drift because they're not based on potentiometers but instead they use sensors and magnetic fields so they don't wear out no matter how much you use them. They are also much more precise than your typical joystick and they do not cost a fortune.

Sorry dude, it was my fault! I had my set up different to yours and placed my roms into a folder called switch rom on sd card. Having played with it for a couple of days I noticed that the roms have to be inside the roms directory/switch. It's all working now. Thank you for your video.

In gaming mode, when you have ryujinx launched, press steam button and go to controller settings, scroll down a bit and there's a toggle for enable back grip buttons. Sorry I was thinking about yuzu, yuzu installs the update. Ryujinx doesn't need to install the update, you just point it to where the update file is, so for ryujinx you don't delete the update file.

Like I showed in the video, you might need to setup the input in gaming mode as for me, in gaming mode, the input is changed to controller_neptune in gaming mode.

you can mess around with the settings to improve. ryujinx is focuses on accurate emulation whilst yuzu focuses on performance so some games might run better on yuzu.

I have a yuzu question.. When I was tinkering the yuzu settings to run Princess Peach Showtime, I kinda messed up the settings and now the touch control is way off. When I play a yuzu game, the touch control is like 2 inches to the left of where I touch the screen. I check the yuzu settings and there is a "reset all settings" button. I'm having second thoughts clicking it as it might messed up even further. Is there a way to reset the settings for an individual game and not all the yuzu games in my collection? Like if I right click a game then try to reset that game only? Thanks!

For some reason, when I go to emulation and BIOS, there is no Ryujinx folder, but it says I have it installed. I've tried reinstalling it, and the folder still is not there. Yuzu is, though.

I’ve been trying for days not to get a game running and it just won’t work, idk what I’m doing wrong and it’s driving me insane. I’ve watched video after video and none have helped me😭 the games won’t open and play. Are you sure your keys are good? And in the right location? That's the only thing I can think of. Else you need to troubleshoot what's the issue.

Is Ryujinx even worth it on SD? I saw comparisons vs Yuzu and Ryujinx had 50% less fps... Maybe some Yuzu fork would be still a better choice than Ryujinx? Can Ryujinx run MK8 stable 60fps and RDR1 stable 30fps?

depends on the game. some games don't run well on ryujinx and might do better on yuzu.

Don't put the updates or dlc in the same folder as the roms if you don't want them to show up in gaming mode. Also, you don't need to install them, just put them in a folder and point to them in the emulator, you can toggle them on or off.

So I just setup ryujinx with the 17.0.0 firmware and tried to run metroid dread with it's game update. When I click run the game it tries to load but then freezes and crashes. I have tried with both the vulkan and opengl gpu api. Any thoughts on what would be causing the crash?

Sorry what seems to be the issue? For it to show up in the steam library you need to use the steam rom manager. firmware and keys for the emulator is still the same location.

I think the yuzu forks that are popping up everywhere are bringing more attention than my video which isn't anything new really, the stuff in this video has been around for a long time. And if ryujinx is in danger, it's going to happen regardless. After seeing yuzu settle so fast, it's like printing money for Nintendo. If they find any angle to sue ryujinx, they will do it.

Hi so 2 things, 1: I am trying to play RDR1 on Ryujinx emulator, it boots normally but I cannot get past the menu as if the buttons don't work. 2: When I press Add Games/Parse, I get a pop up saying "Enabled parsers returned no apps". I have checked that both "Emulators" and "Ryujinx Switch" are both enabled and that the game also works normally but I cannot fix this issue.
