The audio driver situation is specifically for the amp - they switched to an audio amp that no other windows device uses whereas bluetooth and wifi were already available if you borrowed a driver from a lenovo laptop using a similar wireless chip. It helpful that we have a BIOS update that makes wireless connectivity an option right from Valve, but this isn't really a step forward when compared to what was already available prior.

There is a setting to load big picture mode at startup, windows even has a tablet mode that can help. -Coming from a Linux guy that hates on windows 😂

@@legowyn24no? You can make it so steam opens on start up, and then in steam settings you can make steam open in big picture mode

Sucks that there is still no audio drivers. (The method explained on the Steam page is basically what we've been doing, so nothing has changed) I was excited to finally get back to trying Windows, but I guess it's still a waiting game. What a let down.

Yea it sucks. I want to make a new tutorial for the oled and probably will anyway but id rly prefer having audio working. Still have my lcd setup with windows so I can always just revert my oled back to steam os. But very disappointed about the audio

Other than the bios you jeed to be on thru steamos before installing windows its rly the same as my past guides on the channel. However I will be doing an updates video with the oled. The drivers just came out today and the schedule is busy but its on the list.

I have a 64gb lcd steam deck and currently in the market for a windows device the OG ALLY ARE A MSI claw I have windows all ready on a micro sd card but it’s too jankey and the games I wanna play is not playable no matter how mush I tinker with everything so good stuff steam os is great but to be able to dual boot into windows game over😅

@@antwanowens4013 please not the msi claw. I had it and made some videos. Its a prototype device with intel chips that just arent made for the handhelds. You will get much better and consistent performance an Ally or Go. Just my opinion

If you don't dual boot, then yes you will wipe your entire steamos partition which will get rid of all of your Steam games installed and non-steam games installed

There will never be HDR support on the steam deck in Windows. The steam deck to do HDR uses a very non-standard protocol for the screen due to connector type and therefore It will not be doable on Windows from what I understand.
