Great Video. Exactly what I was looking for. Did you have a comparison in regards of latency to other devices like a fire or apple tv? I plan to use it for streaming via lan, but weren't really satisfied with the performance from my fire tv.
@TekToyzGaming Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. Firetv hasn't been a good experience for me either. Very buggy and there is some latency. Amazon doesn't have steam link in its app store (technically unsupported) so you have to sideload it. Apple works great. Used it on ipad and MacBook and installed from app store (supported).

@@TekToyzGaming Thanks for the quick response. Now I have to do some thinking on how much mobile gaming I would with it, or if I'm better off with something like an apple tv.
@TekToyzGaming Жыл бұрын
@@henningb.1162 I think an apple TV would be dope. The performance is good and You 'll have some good native streaming apps and apple arcade. Its the priciest but you;ll be in good shape for a while. Unless you go with the NVIDIA shield. not so cheap either but an excellent and powerful box.

So, as the Steam Link app has been terminated on November 30th 2023, what other options do we have to wirelessly cast the screen of the Steam Deck to a TV? Does Chromecast work?
@TekToyzGaming11 ай бұрын
It’s only for Samsung TVs. They’re discontinuing their version of the steam link natively on their tvs. You can use chromecast, Apple TV or any other android tv device.

@andrewbarreto5050 try connecting the controllers via cable to the Steamdeck to see if it works that way normally. Also when pairing does it actually pair. Also make sure the controllers are updated (firmware)

Not totally sure what you mean by a TV antenna for sharing screen. Also try going to your steam deck desktop and set displays to screen mirroring. maybe this will help with keeping your deck screen on.
