The point is, he walked into a burning room and only seems to have noticed a small (and by that point insignificant) part of what was happening. It's not that he forgot that he already knew his roast burnt, it's that he's only looking at the roast while the rest of the kitchen is in flames. His memory problems serve that joke, not the other way round. Work with me, people.

I have severe adhd, including lack of focus and short term memory issues, so I feel this a lot.
