Note to anyone watching.... Purchase an extra attachment and just clip off the brushes on the end this way there is no chance for the brushes to make contact on the surface through the towel. Yes the towel will get damaged from the heat but there's no need to add 2 towels just because you don't have a dedicated attachment for the right job. Problem solved. Note #2 Since the vast majority of leather in cars is vinyl coated then theres nothing at all wrong with steaming seats. It's how they tighten the leather around the cushions after its been sewed on. You can even spray distilled water on the seat using any spray bottle and leave it in the sun without worry which slightly acts light a steamer. What you don't want to do is introduce water if you have cracks exposing the inner cushions. This will cause mold to form. You also don't want to use a heat gun because you'll end up damaging the vinyl coating.

Yes that would be scary. In this case Meguiars leather cleaner and conditioner would be best and leave it alone. Whatever this product does is it, that's as good as it gets. We're detailers, not miracle workers lol . That seat just needs to be reupholstered with new leather from Lexus LOL.

Great video🤙🏽🤙🏽 I have a 2011 honda odyssey with leather seats. The condition of the leather is mint but it needs some cleaning from blue denim stains. Is it okay to steam clean it? And do i need to use al purpose cleaner when I steam it? Lastly, what leather protectant/conditioner should i use? I hope you get a chance to answer my question🙏🏾 Much appreciated! Your video gives out a lot of great information👍🏽👍🏽

What kind of protectant do use suggest for a leather line this?
@zenon3021 Жыл бұрын
leather conditioners are all trash. They last 2-3 months and don't actually 'condition' as they cannot penetrate the leather's surface. They just sit on top and look shiny for a couple months. That being said, there IS a benefit to getting the dirt out of the seams - helps prevent the leather from cracking. But no one wants to condition their seats 6 times a year, so leather's kinda doomed to crack and fade over time :(

Love your vids! Question, my truck is 11 years old, still looks great, been thinking about stripping the wax off, I've been using Turtle wax carnuba once a year, is it worth it?
@justafan84236 жыл бұрын
Wax is probably long gone by now. Carnauba melts at a certain heat and most waxes don't last near year round. Some oils do stay on the car though so still strip it
@usmale91120016 жыл бұрын
Just a fan What should I use to strip it, dish soap?
@justafan84236 жыл бұрын
@@usmale9112001 well I've seen alot of videos saying a degreasing soap like dawn or ajax strips waxes. I'm not sure how effective it is because there's no way to tell if all the wax is off
@wilsonautodetailing6 жыл бұрын
I would wash it traditionally, then strip it with an ipa wash, then maybe switch from the wax you’re using to meguiars ultimate paste wax

High quality leather purses are sheathed on the back to make them thinner and more flexible. It’s an extra step reserved for a higher price piece, could be the reason for the fragility of it.
