I think dry extraction has its place especially with light to mid stains but nothing beats a hot water extractor. I use a Dri-Pod to dry the seats. Takes about 10-15 mins to dry. Great vid.

Also depends what they’re paying for; this step gets almost everything out and typically a wet extraction is not needed. My shampooer sits most of the time unless there’s tons of liquid and nasty smell.

@@Ruhdiculus I’m always gonna lead my customer to the wet extraction based on how deep the stains are. Dry extraction on heavy stains to me is like taking a shit after you shower vs taking a shit before you shower if that makes any sense. But I do agree dry extraction is great on spot stains and small stains.

I used to sell Electrolux vacuums and dry foam shampoo machines. Dirt attached to the foam and when it dried, all one had to do was vacuum it up. No soaked carpet. Customers loved it. Your technique is similar. I am picking up a new steamer today and I am going to follow your lead. I had been using a Bissell Hydro-steam extraction unit but it really was just an expensive toy. Great video! step by step, clearly explained, well done! Just a side note - I use extractor BUT i do not fill it with water therefore no additional water goes to seats. I use it to only extract the chemicals already introduced to the fabric. It sucks up nicely all the moist I sprayed on it and it takes it out better than just the cloth. It's fast and it's brilliant. 😉🙂

I use a pack of drill brush I ordered on Amazon, if you click the link for the products I use they should be in there. This process works without a steamer it’s not completely necessary, but you should use lots of towels to really mop the fabrics. A steamer will help cut through tougher stains and make the mopping process easier to actually pick up the spills and stains. You can order any type of McCullouch steamer for like $100-$200 on Amazon. The steamer I use is the aquaprovac steamer and runs between $425-$475 and is professional grade for steamers

Wow! great tips man, when you first said dry method I was thinking really dry because my seats got somewhat wet the other day then you started goin ham with the spray I was like oh ok that’s not even that dry but also like you said not soaking it like the extractor. I also noticed yea sometimes the stain comes back so def good to do the wipe at the same time gonna try that.
@reynosoautodetailing
@reynosoautodetailing Жыл бұрын
It stays pretty dry, it looks like I’m soaking them but it actually doesn’t get to seep in deep since I’m using the towel immediately to pull the stains. As long as you use lots of towels, you’ll pick up most of the product and moisture immediately and you’ll notice that you’ll soak tons of towels, that’s why the seats don’t get as wet!
@reynosoautodetailing
@reynosoautodetailing Жыл бұрын
If you use at least 6-12 towels per interior, you shouldn’t really soak seats, you’ll soak towels. Each seat should be fully dry within an hour, by the time you’re done with the interior each seat should be completely dry, unless you’re in super cold humid environment.

Hey Michael, thank you for your videos! I learned a lot from this video. I bought the system and tried it on my car seats, but I'm getting a strong chemical smell even after applying the Finisher. I made sure to use a new microfiber between each step to mop up and absorb, which helped but I'm still getting the chemical smell. Any advice on how to handle that? Btw, bro you really do have an awesome voice!

Hey this is Mike. I’m so glad it helps! Is it a strong chemical smell while you’re working? Or even days after the interiors been cleaned? In my experience it’s a chemical smell left over from the finisher peroxide, which usually sticks around for about a day or two then it dies out. I like to spray some type of air freshener afterwards so it smells pleasant while the peroxide evaporates out Thanks man i appreciate it 😄
@user-uz8js5bm9i
@user-uz8js5bm9i 9 ай бұрын
@@reynosoautodetailing Hey Mike! It was lasting about a week. So I found that the leftover chemical smell most likely came from using too much chemicals and not working small section by section. The family car I was working on is old and had never been detailed. I was working on the passenger seat, but decided to spray all of the seats with enzyme. I then went back to working on the front seats, but found that they took way longer to detail because of their condition. As a result, I just sprayed the back seats with the Finisher thinking I'll just work on it again in a few days. I believe I sprayed an excess amount of the enzyme and let it soak into the seats and probably the foam layer beneath it. The Finisher probably neutralized the enzyme on the cloth, but the excess stayed in the foam and gave the car the chemical smell. Going forward, I'm just going to work on the first two steps of the P&S system small section by section while only applying about 3 sprays before steaming and applying the Finisher. Btw, what air freshener spray do you use? I like the vanillaroma scent, but leaving the trees does not look professional imo. So I've been looking for another option. I thought about Meguiars scent bombers, but was wondering if there was a more economical option for business.
@reynosoautodetailing
@reynosoautodetailing 9 ай бұрын
@@user-uz8js5bm9i Okay now that does make a lot of sense, leaving chemical behind without agitating and removing it with towels/steamer will still stay around lingering. The finisher peroxide only works to neutralize once the majority of the chemical is already removed, and is only designed to neutralize left over residue Working in smaller sections and not leaving anything undone should fix this problem as you’ve mentioned Personally when it comes to anything odor and air freshener related, now my go to is everything from the BioBombs line, (Biofresh bars to be excat). we have a video being edited on odor removal and using their air freshener to give a nice scent to the interior, that should be released in the next week I’ll also make a full video on comparing air fresheners

Yes very effective without a steamer, you don’t even need a steamer but it does add an extra punch and some bite to break down any harder stains and help kill odor and bacteria, after the majority of the stains have already been removed

Everybody copies Wilson auto detailing? Although dry “soaking and absorb” is great for spot stains it’s not a replacement for true extraction. Would you soak, absorb, and mop (dry extract) your own clothing if you had stains on them, No right? This is not a replacement for extraction.
@reynosoautodetailing
@reynosoautodetailing Жыл бұрын
Yes sir it is a replacement for extraction, same as clothes there’s dry cleaning lol ! Not necessary to soak anything and even for lots of clothing, just like a cars interior there’s more risk involved and potential damage with soaking rather than dry cleaning

every day all day in every state cleaners are using hot water extraction on sofa & love-seats in the house and clients are happy. SO.....the same system that used and recommended on a sofa should also be used on car seats - peace out - no need to reinvent the wheel. IF it takes too long to dry, unfortunately the detailer just used the extractor wrong usually due to zero training on the extractor or even worse got trained via KZbin :) --> just go take a 1 day IICRC class
@reynosoautodetailing
@reynosoautodetailing Жыл бұрын
Sofas don’t have a bunch of wiring, sensors, motors, and air bags attached to them like a car seat buddy lol. Sofas are also in a well ventilated large living space, not in a sealed up tight space inside of a car. It’s not the best to use it on sofas either, it’s high risk of mold & bacteria growing inside of the foam of the sofas since it’s very hard for it to completely dry since there’s no airflow that can reach it. Wet dark places are breeding grounds for bacteria

I just don't think you can get a deep clean with this method. Extracting removes all the dirt. After you do a seat with your method, extract it and see what your missing. Just my opinion.
@reynosoautodetailing
@reynosoautodetailing 5 ай бұрын
This is a very deep clean and cleans what we’re sitting on and touching, which is the fabric on the seats and carpets. Extracting just pulls more dirt from under the fabric down in the foam cushion, but you can’t feel that or see it so it damages the seats more than it benefits. It soaks the foam and creates bacteria mold and spreads spills and stains throughout the foam. We’ve had to remove and do full dry outs on countless seats and carpets for our clients because they went the cheaper route and hired a guy to shampoo and extract their seats and ended up being more expensive because of water damages

@@reynosoautodetailing - With today’s technology etc. you wouldn’t even have to travel to LA for auditions, you could do it on Zoom or whatever. You could totally make a living doing that full time. A friend of mine is an “extra” in movies, not good looking just a regular bland dude, and he makes like $2 million a year! But for that you have to move out there. But for voiceover you don’t. At least look into it and check it out. You should make a resume video of you doing different characters (bad guys, “heavies” heroes, villains etc) and email it to every studio. I guarantee you’ll get responses.
