@Hello It's K Whoa whoa back up back up. I'm not trying to be rude, I apologize if this comes off as abrasive but this messaging is kinda manipulative once you think about it to be frank. Being nice and kind to people so that they listen to you try to recruit them? Not just to be a nice person plain and simple and let people seek out things instead of "spreading the message?" The part people have an issue with is the "spreading the message" part. Thats what the shoving it down other peoples throats part is. And its really jarring to see someone only commending non-judgement not for the sake of non-judgement but to recruit more people. And this is coming from someone who believes in God, but spirituality is personal and doesn't need to be spread. Hopefully this gives you some insight, please stop thinking about recruiting people, thats not what God is about.

As a lifelong anxiety sufferer I encourage any of you to consider therapy! I was always skeptical but it really does help! I’m very happy grateful that I started therapy after suffering with mental health for most of my life. My parents didn’t believe in therapy while I was growing up but had I had that kind of help as a child, I’m convinced my life would be a lot different now. It’s never too late though! I didn’t start until I was 22 and it’s really helped me. If you’re suffering, please consider it💜

Life is too short not to pursue feeling your best self. I didn't really start getting help until my 30s, and not until after losing my 6 year old daughter. I've battled anxiety and depression my entire life. I was also diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder at 33 years old, but it's a mental health disorder that starts in childhood. Literally my ENTIRE life has been harder than it needed to be because I didn't have access to the help I needed. The tools I've learned in therapy are life changing. Together with my meds, I have a real chance to feel like my best self. One of my biggest obstacles was having to truly learn that anyone (and I mean anyone) who does not support me seeking treatment or taking meds does NOT have my best interests at heart. At my worst, a good day looked like remembering to feed my children the appropriate number of times. This didn't include remembering to feed me, and not every day was a good day. A lack of support for my treatment was the same as saying those "good" days were okay. I'm not okay with that, so it gave me a power in my mind to shut down any talk that didn't support my mental health healing. To those who are still limited by parent support, I promise you it does get better. Resources are limited until you can pursue care without your parents, but they do exist. Peer support online can help until actual therapy is an option.

I’ve used my saalt cup for years and there’s definitely a learning curve. If you start your period and there’s not enough slip, use lube to insert it better. You should feel a pop or snap (nothing harmful/painful) and run your finger along the rim of the cup to ensure it’s suctioned properly, there should be no folds or indents on the cup. And to remove the cup, break the seal using a finger (don’t just try to pull the rubber stem) and guide it out. I personally don’t like dumping it in the toilet at home, I run hot water in my sink and pour it down that way, plus rinse it out. And repeat until you’re done. I don’t wear mine on the last day or so and opt to use a pad or liner instead. If it feels weird when it’s in, there’s likely to be spillage and leaks, you should feel almost nothing. If it’s too uncomfortable, most likely the incorrect size.

I am still fairly new to periods but was interested in the menstrual cup before I even got my first period. I absolutely love my menstrual cup and while there was definitely a learning curve to putting in and taking it out I have mastered it pretty well if I do say so myself, and have some tips and tricks to share! It took me quite a while to put it in for the first time and I actually had to take breaks because it was hurting so bad to put it in. Once I did though it was easy from then on out. Taking it out, though, was a whole different story. When I had to take it out for the first time I start freaking out because I couldn’t get it out. Basically what you have to do is reach up a little bit to break the seal the cup and slide it down, not just pinch in at the bottom of the cup. What works for me is either reaching all the way up and breaking the seal from the rim of the cup, or pinching the bottom of the cup while literally bearing down while doing it. You bear down in the same way you deliver a child out of that same hole, and I mean it works to be fair. It makes it come out a lot smoother and less messy. You are also less likely to drop it. I hope this helps! P.S. I use the Lena cup and adore it!! It’s extremely similar to the Saalt cup in all ways possible and think both are great!
@LadiiieS3 жыл бұрын
I love recommending the Lumma menstrual disc. Similar concept to a cup, just different shape and insertion/removal process. One of the reasons why i love it is because it has a "tail" similar to a tampon string that makes removal sooooo much easier. Literally just pull it out like you would a tampon. I also feel like the disc in general is easier to use compared to a cup.

I’ve been using a menstrual cup for over 10 years! I like the Diva cup because it’s pretty firm which helps it pop open a lot easier. The way you get it out is you kind of push down a little if it worked it’s way up, then pinch the base of the cup to release the seal. I actually cut off the stem on mine because you shouldn’t be pulling it by the stem anyway. I hope that helps!
@SMicaela4223 жыл бұрын
Not sure if you are doing this but you only use the stem to find your base, pinch and squeeze the bottom of the cup to take it out, it’s not mean to be yanked out. Just gently squeezed out. Xoxo!

I’ve used the saalt cup, but it is firmer than the divacup I used to use, and is harder for me to get inside/out. I also use the larger post-baby size (because my flow is so heavy) and it took a bit to get used to. I have cut the stem completely off and find it easier to remove that way by bearing down a little, just to get it closer to the surface, and then using my index finger I’ll push on the side just enough to break the seal, bear down a little more to start getting it out, and then I’ll use my thumb and index to pinch the bottom and dump it backwards into the toilet. I always get blood on my fingers, but honestly it’s safer and less smelly and wasteful as pads, and Idk why but I cannot do tampons. They always hurt, and I’ve got such a heavy flow that they only last 2 hours tops.

When you do get it out, make sure you don't pull on the little tail, that's just for finding the cup easier in case it moves up. The trick is to actually try and push so that the cup moves down and you xan reach it easier. I know, it sounds funny, but just push and push. :'D

I can't sleep before my period arrrives as well lol As for the cups I started using one in April 2020 because I saw pads dissapearing from stores everywhere, I bought a cup size small of my drugstore brand and also had problems taking it out. Turns out, my cervix sits quite high and buying size medium made in much easier, I'm now able to empty it even at work. I don't know if this is your problem as well, the cup isn't for everyone obviously, but yeah, the first two to three months I couldn't get my cup in, then out and repeatedly wanted to throw it out the window 😅

Yes girl! open communication is ESSENTIAL! My mom never talked to me about my monthly & I was in the dark when the BIG day came!

To take the menstrual cup out, you have to pinch the bottom of the cup to break the suction! If you just yank it out by the tail, it can hurt and make a mess.

I loved my diva cup. Loved it so much. But I now have an IUD and when taking the cup out I seriously felt like it suctioned it out of place. I had to go get a sonogram to make sure it was still in place. Once they confirmed all was good- I retired the diva cup. But I loved it so much!!!

most of the time if people have trouble getting there cup out it is because they dont breake the seal. teh saalt cup is as far as i know a softer cup os you really have to make sure you puch it in in the middle or there above by the cup this way you break the seal and isnt really like stuck in there anymore. if you stil find it unconfertable you can maybe try sitting on the toilet and stil doing it the normal way but dont pull it sraight down let it go with you body. and pull it kinda more to the front if thats makes sense so there is less pressure. i hope this helps someone i havent used the menstrual cup for that lon my self but this workt for me so i hope it helps

I also have a saalt menstrual cup and I absolutely loooooove it so much. I could never go back to tampons after even the first full period using it. The way that I get mine out is sitting down (on the toilet) I’ll kind of “push like I’m birthing” and pull on the tab at the same time just until I can reach up and feel near the top of the cup, then I’ll use my finger and bend the top into itself to break the seal and kind of drag it out. Then I dump it and use my bath (because it’s closest to the toilet) and rinse it out thoroughly with hot hot water. I’d be interested in trying one with possibly softer silicone because I feel like it might be easier to insert and seal, but I don’t know, maybe not. Anyways, I know that was graphic but I hope it helps someone! Yay go going 12 full hours literally not even thinking about having to change it or worrying about it leaking. The days of “heavy tampons” are over! Haha 👏

Love menstrual cups! I use the Diva and Lily cups. When taking it out you have to break the seal otherwise it can be painful just pulling it out.

Would you be comfortable saying which anxiety medication you’re on? I’m currently taking amitriptyline, but have been curious about others.

i love my menstrual cup! i have the saalt one too. i usually put my finger along the rim of the cup and kinda fold it in a little to break the seal, and then use that little grippy spot to pull the cup all the way out. that’s what’s worked best for me

I'm due my smear and at 35 and two babies later I still get nervous! In the uk we don't get to choose as such who will be doing the test, you just phone your general practice and book in with a nurse. Luckily the nurses I have had have always been absolutely brilliant but unless a nurse stays at the practice for years you can't rebook with the nurse you have had. I would definitely prefer your way though, getting to know the person before they have a good 'rummage' 🙈😳🤣

I use the softcup. They’re disposable but I use one each period, so it’s still less waste and so nice to buy a box for under twenty bucks and I’m good for the whole year!
