@@debbiehenson1096 yes, he was an assistant coach at the University of Wyoming when he had a heart-attack playing racquetball, August 4th 1999.

I believe tex-ass only crossed the 50 once during this game. The speed of Collins on the touchdown was ridiculous!!!

I believe Collins was the fastest Sooner at that time.

I didn't even remember Aikman playing in this game. I thought the Miami game was played before Texas.

I was at this game. this was Brian Bosworth's coming out game. this team was made up of freshman and sophomores and only lost 3 games from 1985 - 1987 all to Miami.

I was gutted when Troy got hurt in that Miami game, I believe he could have had a great OU career, However, things worked out in a big way when lil Jamelle stepped in and led OU to the National Championship. Things also worked out for Troy, although never winning at UCLA like OU would however, he won some bigger rings in the League with the Cowboys lol. I grew up and went to HS 10 miles from where Troy did (he was a Henryetta Hen....we always made fun of the fact the Boy's HS teams had a female chicken as their mascot lol. It was changed years ago though to The Golden Knights). I was already 26 when Troy was a Freshman. My brother's former wife (who passed away several years ago...too young) was from Henryetta....we lived in Okmulgee. I never had the privilege of getting to go to see an OU-Texas game but, being in the HS Marching Band we did get to take the field in Norman with the OU Marching Band on 2 separate OU Band Days. That was an amazing experience. We alternated between OU and OSU Band Days. I know the OU Defense is on the right track and will soon play this kind of tenacious Defense OU was known for in the Switzer years....and his background prior was Offense. This coming OU-Texas game should be a great one, with Texas breaking another new HC in. There next QB1 should be an OU legacy kid, with his dad being Charles Thompson. 1 thing for certain....the name of an OU legend will forever grace the name of their Football Stadium...Darrell K Royal!
