Wish we would've picked up the 5th year option for Najee. Both backs should have big seasons with over 1000 yds. Benton's a natural to eventually take over Larry's LDE position in 2026 but Dunbar has him at NT because he's already the third best lineman behind Cam and Larry. Porter is impressive and I don't remember any Steelers rookie CB having a better first year since Rod Woodson. Porter reminds me of a modern era Mel Blount and that's high praise indeed.

Rod Woodson wasn't our best rookie CB, Delton Hall was. That was a long time ago but JPJ was probably better.

Not really-he had a below league average of 4.1 yards per carry vs Cincy’s 26th ranked rushing defense, a good 4.5 (about league average) game vs Seattle’s 31st rushing defense and another quality game (again, 4.5 ypc) vs the Ravens who had the 14th ranked rushing defense and were resting starters. So yeah, playing bad rushing defenses is generally when RBs pad their stats. Also, I’m assuming you meant only the regular season because the last game was against the Bills and Najee had an abysmal 3.1 ypc.

I think it would be more fair to say most fans would want to keep him as part of the one-two punch on a rookie deal but don’t want to keep him on a big contract knowing that means a cut at some other roster spot.

Najee should be paid$$$$. He's a stud, He's a Steeler pay the man. Cause Karma will come back. We don't want to see him as a Raven or a Browns or a Chiefs or Raiders team. Other teams will want him!!!!

Negligible burst after the first level but that’s not why Najee was drafted. In my humble opinion, he’s done exactly what he’s been asked to do and he’s done it with consistency while dealing with inconsistency on the O-Line, with the OC and QB. That said, I’m 50/50 in the team not picking up his 5th year option. I get it in terms of the unknowns with a new OC, new schemes, new QB, new lineman, but I think he already proved capable of adapting to change. All in all, I hope it all works out for team as well as the player. 🤷🏻♂️

I love Najee, but I think this offense can become greater if we gave the ball to Jaylen Warren more and he became the feature back. He really had a superstar season last season, just didn’t get the touches. I like Najee in short yardage situations and as the 2nd back but for this offense I like Warren a lot more.

My guy, Russ improved the run game and Beast Mode. Seahawks run game with Beast Mode alone was...21st. With Russ it became top 5. Seahawks points per game went from 23rd...to top 10 with Russ.

Yall don't understand the RB market at all. Smh... you can't just pick some magic number to pay him. There is a set number in the market for RBs. Why tf would he take $3M a year LESS than somebody that was just paid more for doing less than Najee has?? Smh

Normally I love this podcast. It's probably my favorite but every now and then CC gets on these "My favorite rants" he used to do it with Kenny Pickett, look how that turned out. Harris is his new favoriwe we get it, but he's an average running back. You can blame the lines all you want. We have 2 eyes. We can see, he has so so vision and slow. There's a reason he's not ranked as one of the top backs in NFL we all can see Chris, but I get it. He's your one of your favorites. 58 yd a game is 1000 yd a season. If he was that good the Steelers wouldn't hesitate to keep him around. I'm sure they got better in knowledge of the game and scouts than both of us.

Russ and Beast Mode made each other better. So, why not Russ and Najee?
@RaminDaDream4 ай бұрын
Sadly because what we have is the dollar store version. Russ isn’t what he was, when he had beast mode. Najee is no beast mode, he had some beast mode type games once a while…but he ain’t close to what marshawn was in his prime. Not saying they can’t work well together but it just won’t be that same effect.
@ricostarz20164 ай бұрын
They value Jaylen Warren more! Najee can't take the ball 60 yards to the house like Warren. Jaylen ran behind the same offensive line, with the same players, and the same offense. That's more of an excuse.

I still say not signing Najee was mistake. I can see the similarity of Najee and d.henry in art. smith offense. look at the collateral damage Canada's presence has wrought on this team. not to mention the piss poor O line over the last few years. amazing Najee has run for 1000 yards.

Fans are emotional while organizations are all business. We fall in love with all these players and blame everything and everyone but the player for their performance. Najee is replaceable. By the way, Najee came in the league at 23 and Marshawn at 21. If you’re going to make that comparison, have all the facts.
@jeffvanduyne46144 ай бұрын
Semantics.....all that means is that Najee had 2 more years of wear on the tires. As far as Najee being replaceable, while that may be true, you still can't deny the fact that he's the only back in the league that has rushed for 1000 yards each of the last 3 seasons (and that includes his rookie year). And keep in mind that he did that with a shit coordinator, and a nonexistent offensive line. So, that being said, I would rather have him on the roster than take a chance on an unknown that could fumble every other carry or just not produce. Then the identity of what this team is trying to be about gets flushed down the toilet with last night's dinner. I personally like Najee and how he runs the ball. He's got power to put would be tacklers on the ground, (watch any of his angry run highlights with his stiff arms) and if what they say is true and he has gotten more agile during the off season, he should be a little more elusive as well . Feel free to counter these points.........I'll wait
@03Man114 ай бұрын
@@jeffvanduyne4614 1000 inefficient yards. There are running backs in the league with significantly worse offensive lines that were significantly more efficient than Najee. When I was making this argument a year ago, the Vikings, Giants, and Titans had worse ranked lines than the Steelers and Henry/Cook/Barkley managed to be way more efficient. When you’re the man, you’re the man. If at the end of this season, Najee manages to average 4.5 yards per carry, then I’ll take all this back. Surprise to people who only watch the Steelers and don’t pay attention to the rest of the league, the Steelers didn’t have the worst offensive line. Najee should’ve been better, specially for a first round pick.
