There are a lot of guides like that on the Cowlitz and every other river they fish, dealt with them for years. I just fire up and drop right ahead of him if he wants to play we play. Good luck.

Fishing with another guy once and we bumped a rock and he snapped off the key in the ignition with his knee. Fortunately we were able to pull the stump of the key out with needle nosed pliers. He did have a spare key, and the fishing trip was saved.

"korked!", at least thats what I've always called "low holing". Think of it as a compliment. That guide is a professional with paid clients and he thought you were such a good fisherman that had to get to fish before you did. Just started watching your videos. I haven't fished the cowlitz since I was a kid but I'd much rather donate some lunch and bait to your boat than throw money at that guide😋

I've been low holed a few times by guides. I make it a point after that to bounce rocks and lead off the side of their boat for the rest of the day. I carry 4 buckets of rocks just for that reason.

That took moxy to sing Mr Rogers’ greeting song. Thanks. You’re not alone by being “ low holed”, we (private parties) have the same problem with guides on the Big Manistee, Muskegon, and Pere Marquette rivers in Michigan. Needless to say, I confronted the “guide” and his owner at the dock, end of day. What morons! Good luck; it has gotten so bad here (even on weekdays) that I gave up and sold the boat.

I used to guide the Niagara river. A few people and guides would low hole so bad constantly when I was on fish and they couldn’t catch anything. If that guide had to pass you because they were drifting faster they should have just headed way down to the next drift IMO. Not set up just below you.
