NECR 611 South 3/1/24 - Dawn of the Dash 8

The New England Central Railroad train 611 rolls south through Northfield, MA on Friday, March 1, 2024 with a triad of freshly painted C40-8Ws... Manufactured by General Electric from 1989 to 1994 these 30+ year old units will replace the older EMD locomotives on the NECR roster.
This inaugural all GE run went awry only 3 miles from my position when 611 "went in the hole" in an emergency stop situation. (After some tense moments) the conductor walked the train and apparently found some problems with the air lines within the consist of cars. The crew had 611 underway in short order, no equipment on the ground and nobody injured.

Later around at night around 9PM (3/1/24) When I was waiting for NECR 323 (with 4063 leading) to show at Claremont Jct, believe it or not but they actually did have another emergency stop I think somewhere near Grissom Lane (Railroad Crossing south below Claremont Jct). I wasn't sure exactly what happened since I didn't have a scanner at the time. Might've been mechanical failure. Took about 20 minutes for the train to get going and pass my area.

Really? That is interesting, they had problems that day. I didn't want to miss this, and I was waiting patiently for most of the morning. It was such a relief to hear them coming, but whenever they went into emergency I thought It was all over. It was the same with me, it took them about 20 minutes (or less) to get moving again.

@Steelrailbearing Yeah I had that feeling too. I thought I was gonna get screwed over, because you never know how long it'll take them to start moving again. But isn't till they did finally managed to show up.
