So my personal experience with praecox: i used to underestimate them, i thought compared to most rainbows they’re just drab and boring. Until one day I had to catch one of mine, and when I looked at it under a gentle sunlight, BAM their body shines all sorts of color: most striking is the metallic green and blue.. then as it grew overtime the males fins got deep red and the females are yellow (at first i thought they were late bloomers!) Absolutely hardy and definitely getting them again in the future :)

Moved to a hard water area and these fish love it! First fish stocked after 5 week tank cycle. I have slowly built up the group to 12 fish and I love em. Great video 👌

I love the Dwarf Neon. The color and they dont get to big. I have a few in my 75.

I have 5 in a 55 gal with 2 Dennison barbs, 2 Angels, 3 Yoyo & lots of Hillstream loaches plus 4 Rummy Nosed tetras. Love them. Never seen babies though. Lots of Hillstream babies and the Angels lay eggs then eat them.

I picked up a group of 10 Macoulchi rainbow's. Im not sure how its spelled, but they have brownish scales and bright orange stripes. They stay small around 2 1/2 to 3 inches. When the lights first come on its AMAZING how colorful the males get! Might pick up some neons to go with them. Thanks for the vid!

Love these guys! I have a school of 12 dwarf rainbows in my 55. As far as I know they have never bred though...but it’s possible the other fish in the tank ate any eggs.

I have never had luck with dwarf neons. i've tried a few times to keep them in same tank as my mixed rainbow tank and other than them i haven't had a death in 2 years. tried two different groups of 7 :(

The water comes out the tap here in Scotland at around 6.5ph, they are kept at that in the store I work at but would that work in the long run?
