Hey stefan. I like that your showing more of how the beat making process is going. I think by giving us an idea which sounds you use was awesome . I wanted to know if you could now go over how you set up your native instruments gear (keyboard and drum pad). I am trying to find a proper workflow. I know the new software and new hardware incorporates better now with logic which is what I will be using. Before I start up again, I would like some input . Thanks again Kevin

Stefan could you do a video on organizing/loading drum kits in Battery 4?
@Creukelen7 жыл бұрын
This video was great and helped me a lot just now. The part in particular where you said don’t settle for presets. My only issue is I don’t know what the different stuff are when tweaking. What they do. .. do you have a video explains what the different knobs in these synths do ? I hope this question made sense.
@stefanguy7 жыл бұрын
+Patrick Morris hey Patrick thanks man! And yes i totally understand, there’s two approached, just tweak knobs and listen to their effect on the sound which is what i used to do and still do sometimes. Or learn some basic synthesis. I don’t have any vids on it at the moment but there’s loads of vids. Here’s a good on that will take you the basics with an easy synth to learn kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2iceqF-iZ2BkNk

Hey Stefan, thank you so much you are my inspiration. I am just wondering how I can come up with melodies and such. I find it difficult to come up with rythms and flows which I think actually sound nice. Thanks in advanced.
@stefanguy7 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. One approach is to start by making the melody in your head. What do you hear over the beat. Then reproduce it with your mouth and work it out on the keys.

Amazing vibe. Love that your making jazzy rnb music and not just trap beats. But as a beatmaking newbie I´m wondering how you come up with those advanced chords. I know how to play the basics, but how do you come up with them? Just experimenting or do you have a system? Do you cover this in any of your videos?
@stefanguy7 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, appreciate it. This is the music I prefer to make! It’s a culmination of several years playing and experimentation. To make this type of music you’ll want to start by learning Major and Minor 7th chords as well as 9th and 13th. These are big rich chords or phat cluster chords if the notes are played together. Once you know those basics and a few common progressions like the 2-5-1 (used all over Jazz and in this beat) you can begin to experiment. I hope this helps. I haven’t got any videos on it yet but hopefully one day i will.

Great groove. I would add something harsh or punchy like a stab because right now everything else is so smooth. Basically something contrasting with the smooth and warmth that already exist. Too much smooth can get boring very quickly. But great track nonetheless.

hey Stefan, any way you could show me how to add live vocal effects so that they are active when your singing into the mic and so i can here them when singing into the mic not just here them added after the vocals have been recorded. made video as always btw 🔥🔥🔥🔥.

Sick....I wish you could go more in depth on chord progressions. My chord progressions are just boring 2-4 chord progressions. I have the chords pack from you. But I wanna b able to add on to those and add variation and my own twist.
