I learned how much of a difference you can make when you cut off certain frequencies, reversing, slowing down the time etc. It really sets the production apart. I know it can be tempting to use loops as is...but we run the risk of sounding unoriginal when we do that. I'm new to this and your channel is by far my favorite! Also...that bassline *faints*

That was nice my brother. I love making beats around vocals. It really shows how versatile you can be. I builded r and b around my peeps reggae ton vocals.And I still added a little latin flavor to it. He loved what I added to his vocals. Then he started writing to r and b tracks which he thought he could never do. So it worked out for the both of us.

Hey Stefan, quick question, I'm thinking about getting the Maschine MK3, how are you doing with using it in your productions? I'm a bang-the-drums-out-on-the-keys type of guy and not used to using pad controllers.
@stefanguy6 жыл бұрын
I still don’t feel like I’m using it to it’s full potential at the moment. This is because it works best in the Maschine software. I’d only really recommend it if you’re willing to switch up your workflow and work within Maschine. Some people work in Maschine and mix in a DAW like Logic. I’m still using Logic quite heavily as i know it pretty much inside out so I only really find myself in Maschine when i’m just having fun/learning the software. That being said the Maschine software is incredible and it’s set to get a lot better.
@BigBabyProductions6 жыл бұрын
Cool! I appreciate the honest reply! I use Logic as well and I am a drummer, but I figured that getting a Maschine would probably change my workflow. I think I can wait to purchase another piece of gear that I would hardly use. Thanks again bro for the reply! Keep bangin'!!!

You’re welcome bro! Yeah 💯. When Maschine fully integrates audio recording I may make the switch. I like to just work in one software if i can.

Nice music track Stefan! If you don't mind, I have a question for you. I like the bass sound that you used in this video with Monark. I have Monark also and I'm using it only on Logic Pro X. I looked at your video and used the settings to attempt to get the same bass sound that you have In your video at 2:12 but it's not the same. It seems that you have a preset called Evolet Bass and others that aren't in my version. Might you know how I can get that Monark preset? Thanks! G-Phi

Nice Content man! Do you use Maschine as a Plugin in Logic for anything? Or are you just using the Mk3 as a Midi Controller? Just saw that you're using Battery and the Mk3 in Midi Mode for your Drums, thats why i'm asking.
@stefanguy6 жыл бұрын
Hey bro, firstly thank you man! Yes, when working inside of Logic I just use it as a controller and use Battery. Unless you plan on sampling inside of Logic it makes way more sense to use Battery. And if you plan on sampling you may as well just use the Maschine software in stand alone then export and import the files into Logic. Are you thinking of getting one?
@beatsbydaku6 жыл бұрын
Stefan Guy i bought an mk3 recently, i'm just interested in individual workflows within Logic, so i'll find out whats the best for me :) saw your other Videos already about that. When it comes to sampling i'm using Serato Sample and the Mk3 in Midi Mode. For Drums i'm using Maschine as a Plug-in. Then i drag the Audio or Midi into logic. I would route everything to different midi channels in Logic but i feel like my mac is just too old for that, especially if i'm using a bunch of other plugins. :D

i've been watching so many of your videos recently to discover my direction as an amateur producer. In a lot of your videos, you play these "jazzy/r&b soul" chords. Do you know how I can learn how to play these chords? Are they called neo-soul chords? I've been playing piano since I was younger, so I think I already have an advantage in learning how to play these soulful chords. They would be a very beneficial addition to my music. Thanks!
