Mexico is not a 3rd world country, dude! A few African countries & Papua New Guinea would be what you're talking about. You live in the Americas, and as such, you can build your life as you see fit & it can all be acquired by seeing what you want and working towards that dream & not throwing resources away on daily whims, but saving & investing! A lovely video as always Stefan. Small question. In stead of the radio down by the pedestal why not put it where the transponder sits so that it’s easier to change the frequency. Will be in touch. Steve
@SteFly11 ай бұрын
Hi Steven, the open cutout is a placeholder for the Larus vario display prototype. That’s why I‘m lazy to change it.

@Nico9472_11 ай бұрын
Congratulations to you all! I’ve also got a couple of questions about the LS3, first is why didn’t you bring the Larus variometer? And second, is your trailer for the LS3 a specific kind of trailer? I’ve seen a cobra for an LS6 that needed some cuts to make the wings fit because they’re taller at the root.
@SteFly11 ай бұрын
The Larus Dual GNSS version is installed in my LS3 and it's connected to the SteFly Nav 70, which displays the vario gauge and outputs the vario sound. Yes, it's not so easy to find a trailer for the LS3. I was very fortunate to find a higher Cobra trailer, which works well for my LS3. I have also seen some modifications of the trailer at the wing root, which worked aswell.

Is your speed of 200km/h a correct MacCready speed or did you take a great margin for the final, and you had a few meter to spend hence the speed ?

Congratulations. Just wondering, why are all gliders are white in colour?
@kaihorstmann278311 ай бұрын
To keep them cool. A white surface reflects most light, I.e. energy, thus heating up least. The resins used in glider construction are certified up to 50C. To keep them at or below that temp even in desert and tropical environments like Namibia or here Australia the manufacturers mandate white paint. Just very recently new resins allow higher operating temperatures. You can factory order some gliders in colors other than white mostly in red as to alert others in alpine environments with bright white snow backgrounds

@SteFly11 ай бұрын

@SteFly11 ай бұрын
Danke Dir!

Must have been like flying in a late 70's early 80's 15m comp - seems you need an older 15m class glider these days to win, gone are the days of the first generation Standard Class gliders winning the Club Class. Thanks to the rich boys at the FAI helping to slowly kill of the sport my making it one more difficult for anyone that is not rich and privileged to compete. Whatever happened to getting rid of the stupid 'team flying' and having one pilot per class so that poorer nations can compete as well? Too much vested interest and influence by rich wealthy western European countries who can afford to send mega large teams? It needs to end, the World Gliding Champions are a mockery of their former self.......................
@SteFly11 ай бұрын
Team flying is absolutely not necessary these days to be good at a competition. At our nationals I always fly on my own… so absolutely no argument
