LO SOUND DESERT
What was started by revolting kids, hidden from narrow-minded authorities of sub-urban Californian desert communities in the early 80s, gave birth to bands like Kyuss and Queens Of The Stone Age.
From jamming all night in the middle of a surreal desert landscape to headlining European stages - the film captures a good chunk of punk rock attitude that paved the way for a thing called "Desert Rock”.
Narrated by Josh Homme, Mario Lalli, Brant Bjork, Alfredo Hernandez, Scott Reeder, Sean Wheeler and many more from bands such as Kyuss, Queens Of The Stone Age, Yawning Man, Fatso Jetson, Dali's Llama (...).

I wonder why John Garcia was neither in Lo Sound Desert nor The Desert Age. Did he just not wanna be in them?

John was interviewed by Kerrang magazine in late 2018 on the eve of the release of his third solo album "John Garcia and the Band of Gold" which was released in early 2019. He said this during the interview “I’m done with the desert. I think the desert is overplayed. The devils and cars and naked chicks are way overdone…” I also read elsewhere that John is tired of talking about his past with Kyuss and the whole palm desert scene which I can understand. I just wish he'd have participated in this and the other documentary Desert Age.
