Beautiful piano; case and sound. I really liked the look of the textured plate. I’m assuming you don’t have access to Steinway soundboards. How would you compare your source with a Steinway soundboard?

If you play brand Steinways of the same model, each one is unique. Some of them have a rich, sustained tone and projection while others are more moderate. I would put this piano up against the best Steinways. It’s luck of the draw since aside from the craftsmanship, no two trees are alike!

Is there a way to look at a grand and tell what make or model without seeing any print?

Unless it is a sub standard promotional level piano, the manufacture of the piano is usually cast into the plate.
