how's the album coming? your jams are of the best that exist in electronic music, but an album (or make it 3 cd's) with some mastering would be awesome for the few of us, who still have and appreciate a good stereo system :D

This blew me away. I haven't heard something so gorgeous and musical from a modular before. Damn well done!

By far the best music I've heard coming out of a modular. This boy is a musical genius!

I recommend everyone to check out his new regular Twitch streams - some of the stuff he's producing now is just insanely good.

Ah that feeling when sequencer sectioning clicks. I remember it well. With clock division longform patterns in a 16 step seq are a thing all of a sudden, and the mind suddenly reels. Then over the next month you start daisychaining sequencers into big trees, basically creating screamtracker in hardware one track at a time, and then all bets are off. You really squeezed the maximum amount of flow out of the modules you had at hand, and it's a great performance man!

True love! This really is awesome. Both from a sound designers perspective but also from a technical aspect. I just like when he talks about his journey and he shows how he makes things come from thoughts to reality! This series are a true inspiration! (*)

the two McBeth modules alone cost 3 k. Respect!!
@cide2414 жыл бұрын
I counted 3 Cwejman modules too - I estimate about 1.8k from those three alone. Another 3k if he got it from nasty scalpers.

Maybe the price if the whole setup is off-putting, but the music is really awesome. Really beautiful stuff and sadly so unique. Most "modularist" just let the sample and hold random bleep blop thing thing play for them. This is gear with a purpose!
@searley8888 жыл бұрын
Damn straight! Between Colin and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, I have come to see that modular CAN be melodic and musical! Eurorack, here we come(Not telling my wife!)
@mynameismynameis6668 жыл бұрын
if you exchange the macbeth modules with say AJH and the make noise with bastl/mutable instruments, the whole rack drops to a tenth of the price you´d pay for the setup seen in the video. may not be as perverted, but will still be a randy rig...

What about using software for the sequencing? Either MIDI or MIDI-to-CV,now with stuff like Reaktor 6 Blocks and other similar apps, and just use hardware for the sound generation and FX.

I first run the filter outputs to what? 7.26
@ColinBenders9 жыл бұрын
+Jeroen de Raaf Multiples :-) since I don't have any aux sends in my system I am using multiples to somewhat fake that functionality. by sending the filter output through a mult before going into my desk, I can split the signal and send it out to my fx (usually through a 4:1 mixer module for attenuation)
@Fante2479 жыл бұрын
+Colin Benders So you send the entire mix through the fx section?
@modularmayhem26249 жыл бұрын
Nope. I sort of make stems by adding all the sounds I want processed to a submixer. Those sounds are split into a direct out and an fx signal.
@Fante2479 жыл бұрын
Yeah that makes sense. Couldn't quite understand why you would send the whole mix through
@modularmayhem26249 жыл бұрын
Yeah doing the entire mix would be weird. This method gives you the same level of control you get with using fx sends on a mixer without needing outboard or a DubMix.
