Remember back in the original horsepower muscle car days. The challenger/cuda, dart/duster/scamp were offered with a slant 6 option. Not everyone wants big horsepower and to go triple digits in the MPH area. They just want the car and the brand to get them from A to B and back again. I think CDJ should focus on the whole spectrum of car and truck buyers.

The Avenger RT was the only decent Avenger for that generation. Wouldn't win a beauty or muscle contest, and FWD. The 200 was a far more stylish car; perhaps a base model, luxury model, and performance model and a real name would make it a big seller. This is how Chrysler marketed the Charger and Satellite in the early 1970s with 2 door and some 4 door models. Plus Road Runner meep meep.

I always call them HALO cars they build a High Performance variant to entice you into the showrooms and then you get a case of being humbled real quick and realize that you can only afford the SXT version not the Hellcat

If they’re gonna make a V8 powered vehicle that’s smaller than the Charger, it should be the Challenger, and they should continue to go along with the retro designs. After all, the Challenger was originally a pony car, directly competing with the Mustang and Camaro. It’s only fitting for them to bring it back to take on the Mustang once more.

And in those days they shared a lot with the Cuda, except the Cuda was the smaller and less upscale version. I think the wheelbase was 2 inches shorter so they should bring it back as the more handling oriented version. Maybe with an aluminum v8 finally 😂

This is my 2nd Avenger R/T. My first one was a Silver 2008, (All hard plastic interior). I traded it for a 2013 Black on Black redesigned Avenger by Fiat, (All soft materials and real leather ), in 2017. Today, It only has 42K miles on it. Both Avengers were great daily drivers. Unfortunately, they never made an SRT version which would have been awesome. So I hope Dodge will bring back the Avenger R/T with the 5.7 Hemi rear-wheel drive, or the SXT with the new Hurricane 6. I think the Avenger would still be around if it wasn't for Dodge's poor marking on the Avenger which killed sales. For $5K more, folks were opting for the Charger. Granted it's not a high HP car,but I still enjoy driving it. Enjoying the channel TK!

There is nothing wrong with there being an SXT Charger or Challenger, even back in the muscle car days you could get a Barracuda or a Challenger with the inline 6. Basically any compact or midsize car was available with the inline 6 and you could option most of them all the way to the 440 and in some cars you could get the 426 HEMI.

I remember when the avenger first came out, the nice looking 2 door and had high hopes of v8 power. But as we know now only got A 3.0 front drive. My sister had one and it was a good car but not what we wanted. They did use them in the IROC race series and had a v8 rear drive.

I had a 2014 Dodge Avenger RT. Zero to 60 was around 6 seconds. It was as quick as my 72 340 Duster, I had back in the eighties. Without that great V8 sound.

The Avenger was a better car than the Dart. The RT had a 280 hp V6 and it was fast. I believe it was Motor Trend that said it had too much power. Dodge needs an affordable car like below $30k

Dodge has the Coronet, which was a muscle car back then, it'll be perfect as a Challenger substitute, like that, they can leave the Cuda alone, since for that they'll have to bring back Plymouth and that's just too much in this economy. Then have the Dart as the new Charger replacer, a family sedan, with possibly a V8.

No modern accounting division with a working brain is going to greenlight a redundant performance brand, no matter how well the economy's doing. So as far as they're concerned, all of the old Plymouth names are up for grabs. Especially the really well-known ones.

6 cylinder engines in mopars have been a thing since 1968. They weren't the most desired option, but that 3.7L I6 engine was still the base option for the Charger, lol. It's not worth the hangup over.

I like the idea of having different models for cheaper offerings vs the more expensive ones. The reason you didn't like the Pentastar Challenger is because it looked like the more powerful versions. If the new line-up has an Avenger, then limit it to 6-cylinder power, Cuda with 6 and 8 cylinder powerplants up to 5.7l, then top dog Challenger with base 5.7l and up. The only exception to this could be the 4-door model of Charger could have all powerplants available. The electric car needs to be re-invented by Kuniskis for CDJR. Forget the big oversize electric vehicle until demand and performance catch up to people's expectations. A small electric vehicle would generate better performance and reliability simply by being smaller in the first place. The potential Avenger would be a good place to start if it is about the Tesla 3 size.

It would be smart for them to leverage the platform for multiple models. In this case, as with the previous Charger/Challenger, the Avenger should be a 4 dr and the Cuda a 2 dr.

I think folks are missing the boat on the EV’s. The RT and the scat have the same hardware. The RT is software limited, that means someone will figure out how to take the limits off the RT to make it a scat. Just look at what happened when Tesla did this with the Model 3 long range and the performance. Tesla didn’t go all the way the same but the 2 models shared 1 motor that was the same. I can’t remember the company’s name but they offered to unlock it for like $1000. Tesla offered acceleration boost for $2000. The results were the same, either rout cut .5 seconds off of the 0-60 on the long range.

The Avenger was a newer car so what they made is what it was. Now on the other hand the Cuda was an old 60 & 70's car so if they try to use some platform already in production like they did with the Dodge Dart, it wasn't a Dart but some car they called it a Dart that didn't make it. Now if they modify a Dodge Challenger which was done back then that would work!

I'm telling you... A month or two back I saw a preview, peek or whatever you want to call it, of a Road Runner. That would be awesome if they ultimately had the Barracuda ('Cuda) and a Road Runner as in the past, one more elevated and the Runner a more basic, just plain "grunt-mobile." I have a 74 Road Runner and a '23 Challenger Scat Pack Plus, Dynamics pkg, Shaker edition, Tremec 6spd and a couple things in between. A rejuvenation of the Plymouth badge would be awesome. 👌 And Dodge could get back to making different levels of cars that people *want.* Iacocca did it with the "K cars," cheap, affordable cars that sold a jillion units plus, some upper le El trim stuff for "us." Chrysler would be unstoppable.

Dodge could do a nice refresh on the Nitro and I buy another one. I bought one in Kuwait in 2012 new. Put 200,000 on it and sold it running perfect. Never had any problems with it. I wanted more power, but it did everything I asked it to. Hate on the Nitro if you will, maintain them and they last. And Kuwait is hotter than Phoenix and for a long period as well.

Multipe chassis sizes is a really good way to woe buyers, especially with different engine options. A smaller lighter car with the hurricane or a lower HP v8 can still be really fast and really fun, especially if it's affordable, and big luxurious sedans and power coupes with monster motors are just dream boats, but that comfort and luxury can make them slower just from the weight. If anything i would love to see a 3 tier option with the curreng Charger as a midsize and have rwd compact and full size models flanking it as well. Making sure there is good parts compatibility between models and keeping an eye on swapping motors from one to the other is also what builds your aftermarket community and makes rhe performance scene really come alive.

Cool. You know the original Avenger was a Hillman Avenger in the early 70s, to replace the Hunter. It was adapted in Australia as the Chrysler Centura with engines up to the 4.0 Hemi inline 6. Lots of them have been modified with the 265/6, V8, turbo etc etc. They are a mid size car. A twin Turbo Hurricane Hemi😛6, would be fantastic in a mid size car. Dont need no V8 in that one. I liked the 2010s Avenger, other than the FWD. A mini Charger. Dodge should bring back the Colt too, as a city runabout with a 1/3 or 1/2 Hurricane turbo and hybrid..all electric for urban....and awd for sport.

This is what I would do at Dodge: keep the EV packages as they are on the new Charger but implement the 5.7L HEMI as an option on the R/T and call it the R/T Max. Bring back the 6.4L (392) HEMI and call it either the Charger 500 or the Charger Swinger. They already took a name from the classic Dart (Demon) and put it on a Challenger. They could do the same with the Swinger name. There's their lineup on the new Charger platform fixed. Bring back the Cuda or Avenger for their Hellcat engines and/or their "affordable" car portfolio. Dodge can be saved. With these ideas they can introduce so new folk while maintaining their classic diehard audience.
