The executives of Stellantis have DESTROYED the brands of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram. The majority of their vehicles are now overpriced, with cheap parts, poor fit and finish, and poor reliability. The dealers of these brands screwed over buyers with inflated prices, and poor service after the sale. Their hands aren't clean either. This is a "sinking ship" that ran into an iceberg of greed with their eyes wide open instead of sailing around it by using good judgement, and sound business practices. I feel for the workers, and the consumers who have invested money in their vehicles. Both are getting screwed.

They even screw over used car buyers as well. I reluctantly purchased a 2016 Ford Focus from a Dodge dealership that should have been wholesale. They marked the car up about $6000 or $7000 dollars when it was only worth $3,000 when I bought it. They lied and said everything was fixed and check engine came on a week after I bought it, never again.

In the US, Stellantis tried to make Jeep into a premium brand, raising their prices of their top models to over $100,000 USD, while not increasing the quality to match - basically putting lipstick on a pig. In the process, they left their former mostly young adventure type core customers behind. They don’t want all the bling and can’t afford it either. Add to that over production and the result is large numbers of expensive vehicles sitting on dealer lots racking up flooring costs on vehicles that can’t be sold. If Stellantis doesn’t start giving massive rebates soon, you will see dealers going bankrupt and closing.

Absolutely all Western and Japanese automakers are experiencing a sharp decline in sales and profits. Everyone is looking for reasons, blaming each other, making plans to get out of the crisis. But everyone knows the main reason that starts with the letter "C" but is afraid to admit that this roller can no longer be stopped. At the last auto show in Chengdu, there were almost no people at the Mercedes stand (!). Visitors were interested in completely different cars. This year, the oldest and most authoritative Swiss auto show in the world announced that it will not be held in 2025. Why do you think that?

Stellantis is a European-based company with a dozen brands in their portfolio. They don't care if some brands survive or not. US has too many dealerships as well. And you should look at August European sales. Not just BEVs, the entire car market is struggling. Post-pandemic purchases are over, inventory has normalized, economic outlook is weak, and sales are rapidly slowing down. It's why Stellantis and VW are talking about production cuts.

If you haven't cultivated an EV line with the express purpose of that line becoming profitable, and eventually taking over, a Legacy Auto company has now run out of road. The only three legacy brands that have done this, or at the very least given it a serious attempt, are Volvo, Hyundai, and Kia. Some more legacy brands exist as EVs, but those are Chinese wolves in sheep clothing. The rest... Imagine a bunch of airplanes on the top of a cliff. They start 100 yd away from the cliff edge. The planes themselves require a minimum speed of 60 mph to achieve liftoff. Volvo is at 45 mph. Close, but just not quite there yet. They might end up falling over the cliff edge for that final shove. Hyundai and Kia are at 50 mph and accelerating. The rest are at 15-20 mph with 20 yards to go. It is impossible.

If they were really asleep, how does one explain why major automakers are postponing EV investments, production, and targets? GM, Ford, Stellantis, VW, and Volvo are all pulling back from BEV production targets because the demand is weak and transition is much slower than they projected. Reportedly European companies are now putting pressure on European governments to relax some of the BEV mandates because they cannot meet the targets. @myhome772 The funny thing is that Toyota still makes money and still has a high valuation despite being low-tech within EVs. Toyota claim to have advanced battery tech, but we all know they don't. They field 1 full EV and its outdated compared to most of its competitors. If Toyota were any good in EVs, we would know. That said, Toyota can still sell large volumes of hybrids, PHEVs and ordinary ICE cars and still make money. Their valuation on the stock market testifies to this. That is because their vehicles are reliable and of good quality tbh. This is where Stellantis is in trouble: it is neither advanced in EVs, and their hybrids/ICE cars are poor in quality. Peugeot and Citroen is literal industrial garbage and in fact even worse than VW ICE/hybrid-cars. That is why their time is up. Since Stellantis shares tech internally, i am going to assume their american brands has the some trouble as their French/Italian brands.

In the U.S., the heir of Chrysler's original founder offered to buy the Chrysler and Dodge brands - Stellantis gave on official reply that snubbed them off. In Canada, executives from BYD were seen touring Stellentis' two Canadian factories, one of which is shuttered, but nothing has happened since. It seems that Stellantis doesn't want to improve nor do they want to sell - they just want to keep the brands only to drain them until they die.

Why is toyota sold out regularly? People want reliability, not gimmicks. Id have a new pacifica in the driveway if corporate cared about quality.

Stellantis is a Dutch company. It's largest shareholders are the Agnelli family (Fiat), the Peugeot family, the Ferrari family, and the French government. The US market is not its biggest concern. The holders of common stock are not its biggest concern (it is a Dutch company because the Dutch give special voting rights to "loyalty shares").

Yeah? And? So? The government spent one and a half billion of the taxpayer's dollars in 1979 to bail the auto industry out, then they spent 17.4 billion taxpayer dollars in 2008 because the auto industry is 'too big to fail'… can you conjure a compelling reason to think it won't happen again?

The Chrysler group has been in decline for decades, that is why they were up for sale, Stellantis was formed after PSA took a huge risk and bought them as part of the FCA group. It was assumed that the new members of the Stellantis group would work together for joint prosperity. Chrysler group through AWU were never satisfied with this outcome, and constantly rebelled against every decision, they wanted things to stay as they were, so it has come to pass that their decline continues. Stellantis is so tired of this, no wonder they responded to the dealers in disrespectful terms.

Stellantis is too big, too many similar brands competing in same market, not a lot of investment, lots of old products (particularly in US). It is also big on getting government handouts. But many governments now pushing back. Chinese will kill them. Expect Jeep to be sold in next 5 years. Jeep has had many owners. AMC, which went broke, bought by Chrysler which went broke several times before being bought by Stellantis and now suspect will be sold on again.

My friend had a Jeep Grand Cherokee and put 300,000km on it with only a few minor issues that were fixed immediately by the dealership. He however would never buy another Jeep because of the qualities issues now. Jeep is done in the market and will collapse soon.

The dealers are correct. I bought my first Chrysler product in 1868, I have had a dozen of there -products and I am still driving a 2014 Chrysler 300. I have watched Stellantis destroy the product line. Ever since the unions comment about the CEOs bonus, he stated he would get back at them. Look what has happened.

I drive a 2012 Chrysler minivan that I got used. The Chrysler minivan design team is world class; they have been quite innovative even though the minivan market has shrunk; unfortunately, the prices have shot up and minivans are no longer an affordable option for working class people. The Pacifica PHEV is an excellent vehicle though likely to be eclipsed soon by BYD and Tesla (and even Toyota, which is planning a Sienna Prime PHEV). Jeep and RAM are still profitable and very popular in the U.S., but their prices are high. Don't know what's going to happen with Stellantis and Chrysler but they'd better start selling some lower cost innovative cars and trucks soon.

Anyone remember when Citroen made charismatic, quirky and characterful but amazingly comfortable or very cheap cars. Anyone remember when Fiat were stylish, not under Stellantis the aren't. Anyone remember when Peugeot made staid, reliable good quality cars. Anyone remember when Alfas were a passionate dream of opera in metal and Maserati were proper class. Anyone remember when Jeeps were tough and functional. Now they are all just shoddy Vauxhalls in a fancy dress.
