I'd like to say - it has nothing to do with sexy characters (in this case attractive women) in a game. These days we get buggy, broken messes of a game with half baked ideas and microtransactions up the ass. It has more to do with a polished, good performing, good looking game that is a throw back to the late 90s and early 2000s action games that we enjoyed. Solid as a rock framerate (for the most part, it does have some slight issues apparently but nothing major) and an incredible art direction along with amazing music. I still don't understand the people who complained about the main characters being too "sexy" or bashing the developers for it. Look, I'm on the "left" and both sides talk out of their asses all the time, but complaining about a woman character because she has a nice body? Yeah, weird.
@christopherwarren1685 ай бұрын

Can recommend games like Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Soulstice and the upcoming Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip for that. and a shout to Cookie Cutter and Blud as well. - Clash: AoC is like adventure beat-em-up where you can find different fighting Styles and Special Attacks and customize them to your character, and individually upgrade your styles. A prequel to Zeno Clash-- very colorful world with few humans, full of sapient freaks, monsters and chimeras. - Soulstice: Character actoin/hack-and-slash game with quite a lot of production value to it. Seven different weapons, over twenty enemy types, and very good bosses. Some shortcomings are that the game drags on a bit in the middle, a few of the enemy types are annoying (Get the grappling hook for the Tearing Penance, the Whip, as soon as you get the weapon itself) and people have levied complaints against the camera here and there. There's some divisive mechanics and a *lot* to both the skills and the ways the "Devil Trigger" mode works, so it's not the easiest hack-and-slash to get into. But it's worth it. (And these skills are more substantial than just "percentage damage/resistance boost". It's more like perfect counterattacks of certain enemy attacks now freezing them for a few seconds or sending them up in the air). Both of these last games do have very good story, by the way. Mainly thanks to the character interactions elevating each other. - Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip seems to be more of a fun goof-around game, where a silly little guy named Terry becomes a taxi driver purely so he has a car to try and drive into space with. And Cookie Cutter and Blud are beautifully 2D animated games, one a very solid 2D metroidvania with smooth beat-em-up combat set in a very colorful sci-fi/cyberpunk world full of mutants, monsters, robots, chainsaws and a Hindu demon, and the other a top-down explorative/kind of... dungeon crawling/realtime action combat game. With emphasis on a social aspect with all the inhabitants of the world. (Keep an eye out for upcoming stuff like Resistor, My Familiair, The Mermaid's Tongue/The Mermaid Mask, Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo, Genokids, Yasuke: A Lost Descendant, and Loco Motive. And also whatever Moonhood Studio is cooking up with their stop-motion animated game.)

The controversy is such hypocrisy and I think racist towards Asians. What they should focus on is whether the game is good and its really good! Btw Im also a woman and first got interested in the game because i loved the look of Eve, the design in general, and the music. I played the demo 3x and its not because of jiggle physics. Its a super fun game, the combat feels great, although can be challenging. I pre-ordered the deluxe and took Friday off of work to play this and cannot wait! I also want to support Shif Up and loved seeing that they do have many women on their team and not just random women, but actual gamers, which is not something most of the comapnies complaining about the game can say, like at all. Also, i dont even think companies should hire women just so they can have the female input when they are useless or not qualified. My thought is just stfu...about this and in general. Their takes are way off and they arent qualified to have any takes to begin with. This game is awesome and for me one of my most anticipated games of the year so far (excluding Dragons Dogma).

I am playing Stellar Blade (physical version) offline to avoid the day one patch. My honest opinion is, if this game was released 20 years ago, it wouldn’t have received this much attention. Back then, having pretty female characters in games was quite normal and it should be like that. Also classic action games like Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry series had better controls than Stellar Blade. I feel the controls in Stellar Blade are not as responsive as other action games I had played. Perhaps I am still getting used to this new game. Visually, Stellar Blade looks great. We as gamers have done our part to let developers know we want beautiful feminine women in games, not the muscular “women” who look like men.

I played the demo and loved it! I've been keeping an eye out for it. But yeah def a day one buy for me. I am so excited for it! I really love your content. Also, an easier way for the pass codes is to hit the triangle button and a hint will pop up. It's just what was in the notes. Not sure if you knew that yet. I also really love the music!! I hope we eventually get a soundtrack for it on Spotify. ^^ You can really tell they were inspired by Nier Automata. I really love the characters in this so far and am looking forward to getting to know their stories more!

Another action game with music that had inspirations from NieR: Automata (or so i've heard, i've not played NieR) goes by name Clash: Artifacts of Chaos. Have a listen to the track The Boy Calls. Not many people would expect such music from a game where the main character looks like a wrinkled, gnarly carrot with a sore grumpy thumb for a head. It's testament to the genuine soul and emotions that that game has, all the way through to the end.

Having watched multiple SB reviews, this is the broad consensus: + Great combat (narrower parry/dodge windows than Sekiro) + Good boss battles - Paper thin characterizations - Repetitive fetch side quests Aggregate Score: 8ish/10

Looks like a futuristic version of Steelrising crossed with elements of Nier Automata. Pretty cool.

The "Hint" (triangle) button when entering codes straight up gives you the code if you have found it. If you cant remember, use hint

Hell yeah, this is my most anticipated game since it was announced as the Bayonetta series is an all-time favourite for me and this gives me similar vibes. Played the demo, immediately preordered the digital deluxe. I hate buying digitally but this way i can start playing thursday night instead of friday morning 😂

Soulstice from 2022 has some inspirations from Bayonetta too. And DMC5. Though not so much for tone (it's more in line with Darksiders for tone) as for gameplay. Seven different weapons, a lot of different enemies, cinematic flair for weapon-specific combos, a mix of a Style Meter and Magic Meter-- aside from a few shortcomings, such as a few annoying enemy types, the camera sometimes, and dragging on in the middle, Soulstice is a very solid and fun game. Nice story too, main characters are two sisters and their bond with one another elevate each other. Though there's some snark to be found too with the sassy merchant character.
