Fallen Empire always wipes them out in my games. I never get to see the galactic apocalypse :(. It's the whole reason why I play the game, just to see the entire galaxy laid to waste.

do you set your crisis strenght to the maximum? if so the fallen empires would be the one that's wiped out given that the crisis had time to grow

@@AriusAB I set the crisis meter all the way up. Doesn't matter. One fallen empire awakens and then the crisis ends within a few years.

well in my case iguess iwas lucky. cuz a war in heaven event broke out as the prethoryn spawned along with 2 crisis empires while iwas trying to become the galactic emperor

Me and two of my friends did a 25x default end year prethoryn scourge a couple days ago and we wiped the floor with them. Although, to be fair we had the forerunner mod so we had 3x the shields and armor (I was also the prometheans so I had massive attack buffs, and +20% against the scourge). We also knew it was going to be the scourge so we could build ships designed to counter them. We also had the Halo array on stand by in case we lost lol.

Why were most Star Systems abandoned at the end?

They kill Starbases then build over the systems. They act like an empire but more like a crisis empire (like swarm or exterminators). They usually capture planets with starbases in system but otherwise they just build over the systems previously owned/outright take the territory and starbases. Idk I haven't played much with the scourge. I just know the mechanics generally speaking.

I get the Scourge more than any other crisis. Their fleets always travel out far ahead of their construction ships, so a lot of territory goes unclaimed until the bugs build a base on it. The Scourge don't take starbases, they just blow them up and build their own base on top if it afterward. The game I'm playing right now has had half the galaxy wiped out by the Scourge, and most of those stars are unclaimed. It's created a monster of a refugee crisis for me, especially since I decided to play tall.
