+Neceros protip: look up footage of EU4 multiplayer. The way time works is quite similar, and IMO paradox has done a good job of making it possible to take your time while not having to wait idly.

+Neceros You can still pause the game mate. In EU4 paradox basically implemented a time frame (between 10 and 30 seconds) in which no other can unpause but after that everyone can. I think they have taken over that system for Stellaris and why shouldn't they tbh.

I gotta say, one of the biggest draws for me here is the sheer variety of options in race creation. Ive seen too many 4x games (fantasy or scifi) that allow custom race creation but only have a handful of options. At least Galciv lets you import your own images, but still, this is a really nice perk for me, and one of many things that immediately grabbed my attention about Stellaris in general - huge amounts of starting options, many of which are actually meaningful in terms of how youll end up playing.

I was so hyped for this game to come out! I would read every dev diary and youtube I remember being so excited to come home and watch these streams after class, pure nostalgia. I even dedicated my project in biology to fungi from how much I loved the Blorg streams. I have some questions/suggestions about the game for the developers. 1. Will the Homeworlds or planets in general be more diverse/customizable? ex: size, more biomes/planet-types to choose, especially alien based biomes like Super-Earths, protoplanets, ice giants, gas dwarfs, iron planets, carbon planets, pulsar planets, double planets ex: Titan is a world covered whit seas of hydrocarbons, Europa is an ice world, mercury is an iron world, etc; active/inactive Tectonics, have/not-have atmosphere (and atmosphere type that some species can breathe and other not), extreme/normal climate conditions, having/not-having a magnetosphere, having/not having rings (equatorial, polar or inclined), high/normal/low gravity, and of course its related benefits & problems depending on your race characteristics; that would make every world so unique and the galaxy so diverse, which is a huge problem in X4 games about space, after a while everything becomes the same and gets boring; also could one customize its homeworld star system? 2. How that differences from planet to planet will impact colonization & terraforming options? ex: Mars cant be terraformed because it lacks a magnetosphere to hold an oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere like Earth; But Venus which doesn't have a magnetosphere neither, does have an atmosphere of Co2 because the gravity is enough to hold it on place; an so would require specific technologies to transform them to a degree if not totally to a planet like Earth; but of course the planet type to which you would terraform would be one that supports your specie (or you can choose it so you could resettle aliens in your empire to specific biomes or such). also terraforming could be in a basic level just changing the biological background of a planet to make it suitable for your race, so if you find a planet that have the perfect characteristics for life but for some reason doesn't have it, you could just simply transplant it like a Tier I terraforming process; this would make every colonization option more important & strategic, specially early game, also if some races are similar could be more friendly to each other due to that but at the same time would compete a lot more for colonizing the planets available for them (giving some interesting diplomatic/espionage mechanics for that). 3. Will moons be colonizable as if they were a separate planet? it would be interesting if a civ controls a planet and another its moon, could derive in border friction and a casus belli giving more flavor to the game; also can a civ hace planets inside another civs systems/territory? 4. will there be special & unique planets? like an ancient abandoned Ecumenopolis (world fully covered in cities), a diamond planet like 55 Cancri, rogue planets drifting without a star, nuclear wasteland worlds, post-apocalyptic worlds, artificial planets, a ringed artificial planet, a donut-shaped planet (theoretically possible, but none found yet), etc; and random/flavor events associated whit them. 5. the stellar systems will all be single-star? or will include pulsars, binary/triple/quadruple star systems, systems with star but no planets, black-holes, black-holes with a star being swallowed and the like, and of course how that would change the planets characteristics depending of the star type & its position in the galaxy (core, middle, rim, etc) ex: world next to the core would be more radiated than those on the rim, so harder to colonize & explore. 6. How the galaxy type/age will affect the type of stars & their distribution and of course planet formation? 7. will you add other lifeforms? like artificial life (robots, AI's and the stuff), energy beings, dinosaur people, etc 8. will there be minor species like semi-industrial, tribal, or feudal or techno-barbarian civs? I mean civs that are primitive and cant travel outside of their homeworld (unless they develop or you/other civ helps them) also it would be interesting to tamper whit primitive civs & their internal affairs. like recruiting them into your empire to serve as a minor race inside your civ, that would have interesting mechanics to explore. 9. can civs have population from different races? if so how are the mechanics? 10. will there be space pirates? being pirates from another race or just random pirates. 11. will there be any espionage/intrigue mechanics? 12. how will the internal affairs & problems of each civ be handled? like public order, control of possibly rebellious governors, public management & services and that sort of things. 13. will money exist as a resource? at least depending on your civ and its values. 14. will there be organic starships, or other form of non conventional parts for building a starship? ex: organic spaceships used by the Wraiths in Stargate Atlantis. Hope you read it! and if you like use this ideas even for a DLC, I'm so exited about this game even if I don't get to play it /: (cant afford it living in Venezuela) at least someone always made a gameplay.

+Zema221 I know that 7 8 are answered already with; You will meet other life forms in the sense of the civ creation; as well as the Amoeba we saw here and others like that. There is also minor species in ther "bronze" age as they call them, and you can lift them up to become at least more civilized. I dont think you can ever help them to space travel though but the basics of it is there. You can befriend them and such.

This looks pretty awesome. And I'm excited about the little anecdote about a huge ship graveyard on Mars. That's the basis of so much science fiction. Obviously I know that the anomalies are generated randomly, but it's nice to know that there could be some in the Sol system as well. I'm also glad to see a large system with seven planetary orbits and an asteroid belt with one large asteroid in it. I'm also glad to see that other solar systems are large as well.

Can't wait for this game, and here is why. The 3rd phase of the game, the galactic desaster. As much as I love civ for example, by the industrial age in the latest I will know whether or not I will win a game, the rest is just bringing the victory home and can get quite boring and tedious. So I have high hopes for this, the game slapping me in the face for beeing good, even if it might sound a bit masochistic ^^

True i never finished a civ game before because it gets very boring after 20 civs are beaten

Having missed out on this game until fairly recently, and only watching this lifestream now, it is pretty interesting how the game was different back than. Also, with Synthetic Dawn upcoming and the Roblorg Rogue Servitor lifestream, 39:00 is even more hilarious in handsight!

Wow. It looks like I can finally play the Star Kingdom of Manticore in a game!! This is so cool. Stellaris and Total War: Warhammer both with a May release date my Science Fiction/Fantasy nerd side is getting more excited by the day. Fallout 4, CK2, and EU4 are going to be shelved for a while it looks like. lol
