Fallen empires discovering about long extinct civilizations, yikes the universe is so fucking old

I think the oldest extinct galactic species referenced in the game went extinct either 500 million or a billion years ago, and there's the event about getting hit by a rudimentary kinetic energy projectile which likely came from another galaxy 4 billion years ago. The game is very clear that it's cyclical, the empires rise and inevitably fall, yours almost certainly will too. With how short the game's timeframe is every single game of stellaris you play could have potentially taken place in the same galaxy.

Pharozos Ye but imagine your cursor being about 70% slower than usual an being unable to flick it. Joystick controlled cursors are pretty frustrating due to that imo.

I am happy to see console players getting this game. Stellaris was my introductory game to Paradox, and it will always have a place in my heart. But it does let you know the future of the game. Every step since they decided to do this has to factor both pc and console, and to most companies this is hard to do equally. We (pc players) will find that Stellaris has changed in predictable ways (to support console). As such, I hope they do not do this to the more hardcore games they own. I became a rabid Hearts of Iron 4 player, and whereas I only have a couple hundred hours in Stellaris, I have over 700 hours and counting. I cannot imagine it being console playable, at least not with a controller. Maybe mandatory keyboard/mouse for consoles if they do? So it won't really change the experience for those on pc.

Jedijazz4 Did you run the game on the biggest size , max empires and have at least 300 years into the game with most of the other empires intact with the crisis and awaken empire around?

Deadganon yes of course that's what I mean when I say full game. It gets a little laggy but a PS4 is better then my old laptop definitely. So that should be fine. I think console players are just less picky. For you 30 FPS for a few minutes during a major battle must be game breaking but I feel like console players wouldn't care if that's the cost of the experience. Now when the awakened empires start tearing through systems like butter I hope they are quick with the controller cuz that's gonna be hard lol.

I thought it was some single-player game where you go on to meet as many empires as you can, kinda like a pilgrimage, learning the history of your own world and the state of the galaxy as it is, only to learn that the galaxy is going to be ruined due to how the other civilisations are advancing, and it is your job to convince the elders of your fallen empire to awaken and pick up the arms. What the the other empires experience as an 'awaken empire' and perceive it as a threat, is in fact their attempt to protect everyone. And then it was just a console port..
