Exactly what I was thinking. You could even have it handled with some events. Say, when you invade a planet with xenomorphs, perhaps there's a chance some of them burrow deep into the planet, and resurface a number of years later, devouring the planet and turning it into a hive world. Xenomorphs should be a devouring swarm.

@@Zebo12345678 there ARE a xenomorph escape event, though not 100% sure if it's in one of my (many many MANY) mods, to get it you also need to discover the world the xenomorpths originate from (unique planetary modifier) do an event there to get the xenomorph tech early, which is bit hit and miss depending on how fast you find it, then a few years later there can be an outbreak and unless your garrison on the planet are strong enough to defeat the 3-5 armies of xenomorphs that attack during the breakout they will take over the planet and system completely, with predictable results.

@@Lunaraia There is another mod that does it, or did at least, where the Xenomorph research is classified as a Dangerous Tech like Synthetics and Jump Drives and had several events like what you're talking about but not one involving finding a homeworld they originate from. Still that is definitely not part of the base game sadly, kinda feels like Paradox kinda dropped the ball with a possible Mid Game Crisis event besides the Khan and Machine Uprisings.

@@Lunaraia That's More Planetary Modifiers. Yeah, it has a planet that's overrun by Xenomorphs. Occasionally colonies get attacked by a bunch of Xenomorph armies, and there's loads of expensive to clear blockers on the planets being Xeno hordes.

If one seeks to activate such a device, he would in all likelihood, have to use both the pen, the sword and the shield to acquire such a powerful instrument of destruction. Fancy writing indeed. Honestly I have no clue what I just said. (This isn’t to be taken offensively BTW)

Sanctions are really only impactful in multiplayer. AI empires can't make heads or tails on how to avoid sanctions by changing policies and thus avoid the crushing weight of some of the sanctions you can enact, so sanctions in single player are just a way of making an already weak galaxy weaker. Some of the interesting stuff is in military though. Members of the galactic community can, under certain laws, attack you for no other reason than that you aren't part of the galactic community when the military laws are in full effect. If the AI knew how to use this it could be used to make imperialist games a little more interesting because the entire galaxy could actively unite against you if you leave the Community, and punish you with harsh, anti-conquest sanctions if you stay.

This is something kinda funny that happened to me in a stellaris game. So I had a scientist excavate a dig site and got the maimed trait (-40 years) she lived to the age of 212 me while my scientist that have the long lived trait only live up to the age of 130.... I would chuckle whenever a she outlived someone who didn’t have that maimed trait.

MI 6 honestly that is why I nearly died of laughter when my second oldest scientist died at age 140 or so when the maimed on was over 200 meaning she out lived her own children even if she’s missing a leg

@lathrix for your carriers you should use the flagella with some accuracy modules they are better then strike craft and you should try to mix in scout craft as they focus other fighters and missiles. And are basically a hard counter.

Denouncing a empire reduces their political power. You dont need them to breach galactic "law" to denounce them. Denouncing the second most powerful empire could help in gaining diplomacy actions
