You all might have a point if you were talking about central banking, like the Federal Reserve, who print money; either directly or indirectly (i.e. buying and forgiving debt). Private, fractional-reserve banks would not create capital out of nothing (unless a central-bank is involved). To put it simply, it's using a "fraction" of capital from savings accounts for loans, which return a portion of the interest that is paid back by the borrower. It does not create money, it uses existing capital - capital that is lost if the loans are not paid back. However, we have entities like the Federal Reserve and ECB that step in to disrupt this, which is the true source of inflation caused by fractional reserve lending.

The only game exploit I ever found myself was on the PS2 game RISK: Global Domination. Was getting destroyed by bad dice rolls, but made sure I got my one card per turn at all costs. Went to trade in my 3 cards for armies when I noticed it gave me the armies, but let me keep the cards till I backed out of that menu, so I traded them again, and I got more armies and did not lose my cards. Infinite armies! Took forever putting them down, and I had a bit of a time planning my one turn win after that, but I found it quite worth the effort. 10:05, if I understand this correctly, the games adds negative (some value) to your total credit score (your money), and on the other, it subtracts a negative (some value) from your score. Basically, -- is were money is taken from you, and +- is where money is given to you. (You can't sell sell resource for negative money, that's why this is broken). Edit: in retrospect, the fact that there's two positive/negative indicators likely means that somewhere in the code, the value closest to the numbers gets removed/ the value gets absolute value: --12200c beceomes -|-12200|c goes to -12200c, and + - 12200c becomes +|-12200|c goes to +12200c. Whenever you sell money you get a but load of money, which is where the code breaks, because you sell 10 credits for the price of 20, but then you don't have -- credits, aka the "resource". This makes sense, as you can't take some resource and have the market pay you for it. If you look at 10:00, you'll notice that there is two coin values, one of them changes every time you sell, and the other stays a 1 forever. You can't sell negative resource, but by selling currency, which you can't do, you sell negative money. Basically, this market pays you to pay you money.

Well you always want a tiny amount of inflation to keep the economy growing because if there's negative inflation people will just keep their money. Of course many times over that tiny inflation oftentimes ends up as much much more than intended

Constant inflation discourages fiscal responsibility and encourages going into debt because the value of savings and the severity of debt both go down as inflation goes up. A more careful balance between inflation and deflation would be more sustainable and less stressful.

Economies suffer greatly when money isn't moving around. Just like in the great depression. People keeping money and not using it made that situation far worse. It was understandable certainly but it didn't really help the situation. This is of course why inflation should never be higher than a couple percent. I believe anything higher than 3 is bad news generally? At the same time this is also why America sucks because unlike european countries which adjust their wages according to inflation every year, America's buearacracy 'decides' when that happens. Of course many have reasons not to let it happen so it usually doesn't. This exacerbates the situation in America.

Doing some Civ 6 achievements in my abundance of spare time and I thought "I wonder if that Pantheon spamming trick still works". Not only does it still work, it's crazy easy to do. Time to just get all the Settlers I need 20 turns into games. lol
