I wish there was a choice for the fate of the matriarch. It's a shame that you have to kill her since space whales at least in my experience are usually friendly. It would be cool if she was like a tourist attraction for your empire or something, I don't think she would make a good war vessel like the dragon though.

Nahh in my playthroughs they are evil, Space cows go through my systems, bombard my planets, eat my ships....It totally doesnt have anything to do with that time i pledged to blast them into eatable whale chunk COME TO WHALE DONAL'S TODAY! YEEEHAH!

I do wish there was a more friendly option for space whales, like that the very least maybe you can get an option ot domesticate them and get a bonus to your base energy production (like maybe +4 energy per group of whales you find).

@@Voroshilov406 Which is fine until you're in an actual war with war exhaustion. Also just in terms of damage+effective hitpoints/alloys corvettes aren't that great anymore, because of the large weapon buffs and how large ships are more likely to escape before dying.

Also, the system she was in had 2 gaia planets, and one of the gaia planets had the Planetmind event chain on it. It was fucking great, as a psionic i managed to subjugate it.

I have space whales in a system near my empire, I like to leave them alone, although they are approaching Vluur, also in the system, Vluur is an energy entity that is causing a system wide storm
