The parasmock is a great jacket I've had one 15 plus years probably closer to 20. originally it did have a detachable hood. That's what the buttons are for around the collar. I took mine off and lost it. It should also have a large flap on the back from the base of the jacket with pop studs at the top that you detach and hook under the crotch and fasten to the front of the jacket stopping it riding up when jumping as it's designed for parachutists hence the name. I also cut that off as it was no use to me.

Just don't get caught in a proper rain shower in it as afterwards it will weigh a ton! Great at keeping the wind out ( It's what they are designed for) as their quite thick, get it proofed and your good to go👍🏻

Hi mate, thanks for watching. I got it off ebay. I cannot find the same supplier but if you type in "British Army Para Smock" there are a few there. Just look out for the elastic cuffs on the sleeves. I have changed the channel name from "uk Outdoors" to "uk Outdoor life" now. It shows up at the top when I search for it on other devices.

i don't think the crotch strap is there to stop the jacket coming up when jumping.the leg straps on the parachute harness would do that,and if they were undone you might be in a spot of bother.i think was just to hold the jacket in place when putting the chute on .that's what thought when i was a para,might be wrong.tell me.

My thoughts entirely, its to allow the wearer to hump & jump around getting the chute fitted.

I think one of the arm pockets is for a morphine injector and a patch for a gunshot wound.
