Gotta take care of your health first. I recently changed spark plugs on mine and the rear cylinder wouldn't fire. I pulled the plugs and checked, both were sparking. But I eventually found that the new Champion plug for the rear was shorted center to base. Put another new plug in and she ran just fine. Not saying that's a problem but it might be worth a check.

It's great to see you on the mend. Have you tried swapping the spark plugs? I've had plugs play games in the past especially when they have good spark until their under compression. One of those head scratchers when they are brand new plugs. When your up to it keep the shiny side up and the rubber side down.
@pacificmike95013 жыл бұрын
Thank You. Yes, I'll go through all the combinations, if it's warm tomorrow.
@Olle-5553 жыл бұрын
It's more common that I thought with bad spark plugs. It kind of sounds like an ignition problem, since the carb is same for both cylinders. First thing I would do is actually changing plugs front to rear. Next thing would be the feed to the coils. Good luck!
@timothyputzke12503 жыл бұрын
@@Olle-555 That's the order I would proceed. The coil could be getting weak. My shovel was playing games two years ago. Turned out to be a broken spring on the advance weights.
@Olle-5553 жыл бұрын
@@timothyputzke1250 My father told me a good thing when I was 11-12 years old. "If it isn't the fuel, it is the ignition!". It has saved me a lot of headache. I think it's true in 90% of the cases and when it's not true the cause is quite obvious. I had a piston that came out of the engine once...... that was obvious 🤣😂. In this case I don't think it's a fuel related thing.

In the thirties. But, it's quite an adjustment. When you go from well over 100 down to the forties in a matter of a few days, well, the older you get, the rougher it gets. It's not how high or low, it's the difference between the two. I've had major fun in Canada, but it's been a long time.

@pacificmike95013 жыл бұрын
If you keep a "tender" on the battery, it will always be hot. If everything else is good, the starter is suspect, especially if the solenoid is working well. You can try a jumper wire (14 gauge) from the little post on the solenoid to the longest post on the solenoid. If it starts easily, your problem is between the starter button and the solenoid. This includes a bunch of wire and a starter relay. Be sure the bike is in neutral when you try this and it won't actually start unless the ignition switch is on. Don't burn your fingers.

Truing and balancing are two different things. A truing stand is what's normally used for truing. S&S makes a wonderful "balancing" set. I'm sure you can find them on the Internet.
