You're a true blue fucking legend, bro. I got a 2007 RT in great condition but with 190k miles, a dead alternator, and a check engine for 2.5k (fixed alternator immediately). Using your video, I was able to put my rework station to use and all I had to buy was a 15-dollar pry tool kit from Autozone. The inspection was due this month, and it seemed I was going to have to pay a pretty penny to get this fixed. The check engine light is gone and you've saved me over 1000 in expenses considering most mechanics would replace the fuel pump, then replace the entire instrument cluster. As a broke college student, I cannot thank you enough. Doing god's work bro good shit 💯👍

I not only had to resolder the green board for the specific fuel gauge but had to just solder over the entire top left and it worked checked voltage reading on scanner and it fluctuated depending how much I stepped on the gas, prior to this it would stay stuck at .25 volts This video helped out thank you so much!!! 👌👌

@@TheRumblebee2306 I would say that it is highly likely that this is your issue. I ultimately had to get a different cluster. I bought a used one and had to reprogram the mileage on the new one to match the old one.

Where can you buy new cluster and re program?
@DCAutoEnhancement Жыл бұрын
I was able to get a used one from a salvage yard and then program the mileage with my scan tool. Here is a link to a repair service that can fix your original cluster, therefore there is no need for programming. www.ebay.com/itm/305061578414?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=smxUW-lnQnK&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=FVeLxnzVRmy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY let me know if you have any more questions

So no word if it worked or not after all that?
@DCAutoEnhancement Жыл бұрын
It worked for a while. There was definitely an issue with a connection on the circuit board but I bought an instrument cluster from a junkyard. If you go that route, the mileage will not be correct and you will want to have it programmed. Luckily I have a scanner that will do that.
@matthewpetersen44172 жыл бұрын
pulling my cluster today to do this, the p0462 has been beating me until I found this. All wires ring out good all the way to the cluster. So this has to be the root problem.

@@DCAutoEnhancement I took it out, pulled the needles flipped it and torched it, what I found was at that c20 or whatever solder connection the one below that had zero solder and a few over too, so I put new solder down, installed and gages still work correct, not light yet but I only did like 2 miles, so I gotta see after she sets the monitors. But Good thing is gages still work right, I dont think they are placement specific as per they are controlled by a pod.

@DCAutoEnhancement this is what I'm leaning on doing. How tough was it to reprogram it? Do you have a video reprogramming the cluster?
@DCAutoEnhancement5 ай бұрын
@@Reggied103079 it was pretty straightforward. I contacted XTOOL before I bought the scan tool to make sure it could program the cluster. The scan tool will walk you through it.

Good luck, it's not a guaranteed fix but it might save you from having to buy a new cluster. That being said, if you do have to get a cluster from a junkyard, it will have the mileage from the other car on it.

Sorry to leave you hanging. I ultimately ended up getting an instrument cluster from the junk yard because I couldn't get this one to keep working. It did work for a bit after doing this repair. I think I just didn't get the solder joint(s) good enough. It did work though for a short time. If you do replace yours, a mechanic will have to adjust the mileage on the new cluster to match your ecu.
