She's selling you a product sweet girl, not helping us learn how our hair behaves and what to do so our hair looks fabulous. The brand she's talking about will change the formula every couple of years, maybe less. Just so they can increase the price and sell you additional, 'new' products. This is a billion dollar business and everyone wants your money. You need to find someone who doesn't want to sell you anything but will teach you what they know. The words this hair dresser is using to try and make it sound like a science....or something new!!! We've been doing this stuff forever. You only need a good shampoo and a nourishing conditioner, no brushes and minimal heat! The hair model in this video has had a good conditioning treatment, nothing more! Maybe a lick of serum if your lucky! It's common sense and some nice styling, go look for some hair styling videos for curly hair!! 🌟 Good luck! 🌟

@@indigoblue4791 Awwwww that's not true! I put my heart and soul into teaching clients how to listen to your curls! As a matter of fact, I even tell all of my client's how to reach out to me personally on my instagram should they have any questions about how their curls are acting, how they should style it with either Devacurl or whatever products they bring in etc! I love my fricken clients! Each one of them are different in their own way in a different situation! No one person is the same, so it's pointless for me to make videos on each curly girl that comes through our salon with a different situation, and me reacting heartbreakingly to negative reviews (such as yours) because it didn't help that particular individual. I wish I could be your hairdresser and get you out of that negative thinking state of mind! It sounds like you had a poor experience in the past and walked out of the salon not knowing how to do your hair and that's wrong! I have the passion and instinct enough to allow my clients to continually feel confident regardless after their service!

Thank you so much for this info, I am 56 years old and I struggled with my hair when I was younger, trying to make it straight, but one day I realized how much I love my curly hair, and for a few years I was using the flat iron, I was sick and tired and decided not to do that and try to get my curls back, my hair is thick and very dry as well but I will try this product and this method, and I also decided not to color my grey anymore, as long as my hair looks healthy and beautiful I don't care, can not stop aging so why fight it!

Finally a GENTLE hairdresser, that also knows what she is doing, and talk to the client what is necesary. I felt so bad being on a chair and ignored while hairdresser keeps talking with others and her coleagues while pulling my hair out, or ask me inapropriate intimate questions that has nothing to do with what we do there, then go home disapointed on my look, on my money and my hair expenses, until the point I don't go at saloon anymore.

Love that we've all been inspired to embrace our beautiful curls! Its about time! ❤ I remember when I was in high school I spent all day diffusing my hair into a gorgeous curly style. I could wait for my boyfriend to see it. When he finally saw me he looked disappointed he told me he didn't like big girls he liked them to look "wet and flatter." (This was the 90s) Then he specifically referenced Julia Louis-Dreyfus from Seinfeld and said I don't like her girls don't wear your hair like that. JERK! That was 25 years ago. He called me recently because he just got a divorce and I reminded him with an asshole he was. 😊

It's in the Curly Girl book my dears! I would do more research since it's an amazing curl journey for all you curly girls out there to venture into! We're here to discover, and discourage beating our hair into submission! Listening to what our curls want, versus what you want to tell it to do are totally two different things! The more you understand your curls, the more you'll be one with it instead of against it! Hope this helps!
@kirstybonner26454 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure there's a sliding scale of curl type and number of glands lol. but I agree, it definitely is obvious the hair is dryer due to less oil traveling down. Also the curl can mean much longer hair than people think hence hair that's been around a lot longer, and needs care and attention our it will dry out.

Tracy this
@everettwhite98745 жыл бұрын
Tracy My understanding is by having more sebaceous glands they would produce more oil in the hair, but fewer glands would produce less oil. Looking at the back of her head it looks like she might not have been giving that area as much attention that it needs. She also has highlights which can affect moisture retention needed for those curls. Now it seems she has a stylist and products to help maintain her curly style.

I'd love to find a stylist with curly hair. This is a great service done at a salon, but I don't have hours to do my hair every day. I condition daily in shower, shampoo 2x per week, don't leave dripping wet (where would I put the dripping water while getting ready for work??) put product in, scrunch out excess with a super soft t-shirt, diffuse hair upside down for less than 5 minutes and out the door I have to go to work to pay for all of the curly products. LOL Product I use has a cast so I let it continue to air dry for 2-3 hours before shaking out. Not perfect every day, but my hair is pretty healthy considering the little time I spend on it. Thank you for helping us tame our curls:).

Anthony Carenza true, I have curly hair like an orange rod for perming. I straightened my hair fo years and for past 15 years don’t do it anymore. I use mixed chicks. It’s a conditioner leave in. Expensive but keeps my curls intact and not freeze. I’m a hairdresser and buy it from some distributors and sometimes from manufacturer in California. Some salons carry the mixed chicks but they charge retail price. As for Deva Curl I bought all of those products and have used it. I find too much time is spent on using all them different bottles and have become lazy using all that product. Not to mention costly. I’ll tell you shampoos dry out your hair. I wet my hair and use good quality conditioner instead of shampoo than use mixed chicks. This works for me. Keep a water bottle around with some condoned inside and give your curls a squirt when seein hair dry and revives your curls. I even use the cheap dipitty do da gel to bring out curls. Both my daughters have curly hair too and a mad house I live in with these super curly hair!!!

See how her hair gets wet instantly? This is called medium or high porosity, NOT LOW POROSITY. The reason I have that in all caps is b/c most of the 'CGM community' is convinced that they have low porosity hair unless their hair is damaged. If your hair gets wet easily, like in this video, then you do not have low porosity hair. I don't care how long it takes to dry, it's about how long it takes to get wet. Think of it like a sponge. Also, there is nothing wrong with having naturally high porosity hair. Having low porosity hair is not hair goals in the slightest. BTW, thank you for the video. I loved it.

And notice that she had to sit under a dryer. I had to do that, too. For an hour. Do you have one of those dryers at home? Nope. Me neither. So how can she ever get these same results again? It takes my hair 7 hours to dry naturally. I'm almost done with the work day before I can stop looking like a shaggy dog and scrunch out my hair. You can either do a light drizzle rinse, or just leave it in very wet dripping hair. When you get out of the shower, you'll end up scrunching or blotting with a towel anyway so the excess conditioner will be taken out!

I am oily on the scalp but I have type 2C hair. So that is not my problem why my hair is still frizzy.

Wish the audio for the stylist’s voice was better. Could hear the other women squealing and over acting but not her. What I could hear was great info!!! Thank you.

Overacting is right! Too old to still be behaving that way!

The cut makes a big difference

My hair is exactly like Kelly’s. Have had horrible cuts with stylists who said that they trained in Deva Curl method, but obviously did not. My very curly hair became 2 inches shorter when dry, than the front hair which is straighter. Awful. Since I cannot drive over 4 hours to get to Victor, NY from Rhinebeck, NY, could you recommend anyone closer to me who would be as wonderful as you are with straight/curly hair?❤️

I agree with the comments below the hair is more waves than curls...the video was good but I wish it was more in details about each product after they were put into the hair, were they rinsed out? when you have curly hair you don't fluff your hair after it is dry because the curls will disappear..All in all a decent video. I learned one thing just add more water to hair the squish squish sound,,,

How do we know if conditioner needs wet hair or dry hair? I’ve been taught to squeeze hair out first
