When you're studying from photo references of figures, are you thinking of where the horizon line is when constructing the boxes? Is this something we should consider when breaking down/studying these photos?

I don't. I mostly focus on positioning 1 or 2pt perspective boxes minus vanishing pts.

really good video, if i want to check if my boxes are in perspective, i just extend their lines to see if they are in the same point?

I'm not actually using vanishing points for most. I always double check that my lines moving in the same direction stay parallel instead.
