Thank you for helping me fix my toilet. You were the only one that had matching flash heads.

Spot on! It's precisely what I was looking for. The instructions are easy to follow, and the attention to finer details, like seal placement, is excellent.

Brilliant - I have been searching (and trying,) to repair for months. The best - just got it out. For others looking for Caroma altisse - all I need now is how to get the inlet valve seal repaired
@MeettheTings Жыл бұрын
I should repair my inlet valve seal too but it's just slightly leaking and doesn't leak when it's not in use...but I remember it wasn't too hard either.

Thanks - I'd only found videos for other toilets until I found this - perfect and so easy! I'd tried removing the centre part, but didn't realise the clips where there. Once I'd pulled them back it was so easy. Saved me $$$$ compared to getting a plumber in to fix a $5 washer!

I know, that's what I thought...the plumber will charge me 200 bucks for a 5min job lol

Dude, very good video. Had same system, took me literally $6 and 5 minutes to swap the seating washer. There is a better washer to use than the one you had in video (larger diameter hole). Also, my old washer had literally melted into a sticky mess.... goo remover cleaned it off both from the cistern and the plastic flush plate.
@MeettheTings11 ай бұрын
Oh which one did you use? I'll get that too and try it on my next change.

THANK YOU!!! worked a treat. I did have difficulty getting the whole thing out of the clips, so I poured near boiling water over the clips to soften the plastic, and voila it came out easy peasy.

oh nice tip. Yeh that would've helped me a ton actually haha...I spent a good 5mins there trying to loosen it before I filmed.

Brilliant video, thanks for making. Just fixed my toilet leak, unfotunately i had to buy 2 x washers as first was incorrect size. Great instructions thanks man :) Wonder how much a plumber would charge for this!!

Thanks mate. Perfect thumbnail at start of video. You made it very easy for me and I would definitely have done what you did and gone for Fowler ware replacement because that’s the brand of the toilet 👍🏽😁

Good to see exactly how to remove the assembly. These parts get brittle when they are old so it is great to see I am doing it right and not missing some clip.

Thanks for sharing these detailed instructions. My own experience was very frustrating, and took considerably longer than expected due to 1. The water inlet pipe is inside the cistern and a copper pipe sat across top of flush mechanism so I had to remove all that before even attempting to lift out the flusher. Very tricky due to access and tools required. 2. The inlet stop cock didn't....so I had to plan around turning off the water outside and also replacing the stop cock as part of this job 3. The first fix-a-loo seating washer I tried ( red colour ) fit but the water still leaked. Even after disassembly of everything again, grrr, trying reseating it. I spent quite a long time trying to resolve. In the end I went back to B and bought the black one. I also returned the braided hoses that I tried to replace the copper pipe with because it's not safe if submerged or touching water - can burst. What use are those - it says replace every 5 years on it!!! 4. i didn't reconnect the copper pipe this time because it can be tested without , I recommend this approach. 5. First attempt with fix a loo black washer and it still leaked in the bowl. Fiddled with it a lot. Watched more videos. 6. Eventuality after removing , putting washing liquid around plastic plunger, re-attaching and fiddling a lot to try and get it seated evenly around ( it still looked smaller than it ought to be ) I placed it back into the housing and tested it . Eureka, no drip in bowl. I left it like this for a few days and just use the stop cock to fill the cistern before I was happy it was working long term. No idea why it eventually worked.. seems to be luck. It's such a fiddly contraption you'd think in 2024 a better mechanism existed. All up I spent at least 4-5hrs on and off with this "easy job". YMMV.

Thank you so much, just followed your instructions and solved the problem. There's another issue. In the tank there are two bolts fixing the tank on the seat base, and they have washers as well. They are a bit wear and come off from the bolt, starts leaking from that point. My question is how to remove the valve and other parts from the tank? and replace the washer under bolts. This Caroma toilet design is very inconvenient.
@MeettheTings10 ай бұрын
You don't have to remove the other bits to do that. Drain water, tap off. Unscrew from under the tank. Pop bolts up, replace washers.
