Thanks for this video. I have the smart 100A BMS and 5A active balancer (Not smart) Did you manage to upgrade the BMS firmware? It asks you for a secure firmware code. Any idea if this is possible?

I've got two Daly BMS 4S LiFePo4, but it comes with two separate modules with separate bluetooth. Do you need to connect to them separately in order to set up Battery protection and Active balancing?

Can the Daly BMS be purchased as say a 16s and configured as an 8s to allow for system expansion?
@lifepo4oz6739 ай бұрын
Hi, unfortunately not. The 16S Daly can only run in a 16S configuration.

I have 2 bms 150 amp model set up in 12 volt paralell system. Do I have to setup each bms with the same parameters? or, just set up one?
@lifepo4oz67310 ай бұрын
Yes you'll need to update the settings on both of your BMS's. In addtion to that, Daly says if your going to run 2x Daly BMS in parallel you should also use their Parallel module, that said the parallel module will only connect with specific BMS. Check on the side of your bms to see if it has a "Parallel" port.

Hey is there a way to make standard daly bms into smart one and add bluetooth and active balancer? I have 2 daly bms one is 8s and other one is 16s
@lifepo4oz6734 ай бұрын
You should be able to connect the Bluetooth dongle to the bms and connect through the Smart BMS app, however it may depend on your BMS model. Here's a link to the bluetooth dongle: lifepo4oz.com/collections/active-balancers-parallel-modules/products/daly-bluetooth-dongle

I cant seem to get the balancer to balance. I am in the parameters. Do you know what is the trigger to balance? Does it need to be charging to balance ? does it have an auto balance or is my bms not working properly? Thanks
@frankz112510 ай бұрын
If I do not have the active balancer unit do I need to lower the passive balance current? It is set to 1 A now.
@lifepo4oz6739 ай бұрын
The Daly BMS doesn't have an Active Balancer built in, it has a passive balancer. To see the difference see this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnrYmqxnZpJ-jaMsi=RknUmvjP4NVqd6hh

I made a dumb blunder. I didnt follow this part of the instructions. As a result the system "thought" the capacity of the pile was 30 amp hour not 280 Ah ... I thought this would be calbrated byt the BMS .. I was wrong .... RTFM ... rookie mistake ... Al fixed now nd it seems to be working great .... on it's first cycle and so far Very Happy ..

I have an APC 3000va UPS. I purchased a Daly brand, 15s 150 amp Smart BMS and created a 48-volt LifePo4 battery pack. However, I'm encountering an issue. Normally, the BMS's B- should be connected to the battery, and the P- should be connected to the UPS. But when connected this way, if the city power is cut, the device automatically shuts down. After it shuts down, if I press the button, it turns back on and continues to operate on battery mode. If the power is cut again, the UPS shuts down once more. There's no problem with charging the batteries when the city power is available. When I connect the B- to the UPS and the P- to the battery, as long as the battery is charged, it automatically switches to the battery when the city power goes out. However, in this setup, it does not charge the batteries and even discharges them while the grid is active. So, the UPS is functioning correctly, but it does not charge the batteries. Additionally, there's another odd thing. If I use another BMS from Daly that is not a Smart model, I encounter the same problem; however, if I reverse the connections-connecting B- to the UPS and P- to the battery-the system operates normally and charges the batteries. Can someone please help about this problem

Title: Balancing Issue with New 12V LiFePO4 Battery Pack (EVE 105Ah Cells) Message: Hello everyone, I recently upgraded my 12V LiFePO4 battery pack and encountered a balancing issue that I can't resolve. Previously, I had a 12V pack made from 4 EVE 105Ah cells, and it worked perfectly with my Daly 100A BMS. Balancing occurred as expected. Now, I've expanded the pack to 210Ah by adding 4 new EVE 105Ah cells. I connected the cells in pairs (one old and one new in parallel), creating 4 parallel groups, which are then connected in series (4S configuration). I am still using the same Daly BMS. Here’s the issue: The pack charges fine, but one cell group (the first group) consistently shows a higher voltage (3.54V) compared to the other three (3.35V). The BMS is unable to reduce this difference below 0.2V, even after running for 24 hours, although the balancing tolerance is supposed to be 0.05V. Interestingly, if I disconnect the charger, the balancing happens within just 2 hours, and the voltages equalize. But when I reconnect the charger, even with a low charging current (3A), the imbalance reappears (around 0.15V). I'm using an active balancer with a 1A balancing current. Given that this issue didn't happen with the old pack, I’m wondering if it’s related to mixing old and new cells or the balancing current being insufficient. Questions: Why does balancing fail when the charger is connected, even with no charging current (0A)?
