What a terrific video, subscribed. How would one know if a thermostat and a circulator is just starting to go bad? I can surely say that you educated me on the aquastat enough that even I can replace one. Thanks a million.

The motor would start making a noise..there’s 3 parts of the circulator motor bearings and valoute… most of the time it’s the motor or the couplings

Just came across vid. Respectfully, Please recheck the doc for the Aquastat regarding B2. According to the doc B2 is putting out voltage in millivolts. If you get 24 volts off of B2, I’d think that would be a problem. Further I’ve watched a couple other vids on YT regarding the Aquastat. They seem to confirm that B2 is outputting millivolts.

The set it to 180 because that’s the highest you can go before making steam… if you put any higher you won’t get good heat

Great video!! questions: can you connect c-wire to aquastat 24 v transformer? I'm trying to upgrade to a smart thermostat but it requires a C-wire.

You can solder it but don’t play with it and change it
