Can these mods get me banned? I know the anticheat can ban people who mod the game hut I'm not sure how common it is or if it's worth the risk

@@Parmesan.314 cosmetic skins are not atm highlighted as ban able offense by the developers. Especially since these are only seen by you the player. Altering number values or the game is. My suggestion would be to join the official Helldivers 2 discord or if you’d like subscribe here or other content creators as I try my best to keep up with the ever going changes.

I encountered an issue, and I was wondering if this is common. I only have one mod downloaded, didn't alter the file names at all. It worked when I first launched the game, but after that, I don't see it when I relaunch the game.

I haven’t encountered that myself, I would remove the file and start from scratch again to see if you can recreate the issue

great tips man. i was able to get some to work, but not others for some reason. i thought there may have been a limit or something but looking at the comments on nexus it seems the people that have posted say it works great for them, but it doesn't want to load a bunch for me. not sure what i might be doing wrong considering ive done the same throughout the entire process. also the mods that have the "Manifest.json" files, do those get duplicated or replaced? i have a few different mods that have that same filename and im not sure which way to go about it

@@Alpha.Reaper.1420 honestly I would go the Helldivers mod manager route which is also through nexus. I don’t have a guide as of yet, but @ThiccFilA just put one out if you’re interested. As for the json files I’m not entirely sure, I would assume the process would be the same as the gpu resource files that work if you change the number sequence.

@@dadpoolgames1748 for sure. unfortunately i can't run HDMM because its not compatible with the distro of Linux im running, so im limited to installing these manually, ive tried a bunch of different mods and just come to the realization that some mods work well with linux, whereas some just wont. and thats fine its not a deal breaker yknow lol

@@thedeadlymauraderthedeadly801 check to see how recent the creator of the mod your looking for has updated it. It might be unstable if it’s prior to the most recent Escalation of Freedom update. Also I’m sure you know this but also check the patch_# to see if there are any duplicates

I don’t know how to mod weapons and I thought this was a guide to mod weapons like switching the modes

there are visual and audio mods through nexus mod manager. As for just basic switching modes on the weapon, hold the reload button to bring up functions such as single fire, and full auto. Hopefully the game adds attachments to the game as their is no additional modifications to weapons at the moment.

@@DemonicLunar117 The process can definitely be a hassle. Are the mods you want recently updated? If so are you changing the sequence to the patch_#? Lastly are you verifying your game files in Steam after installing your mods?

Fantastic tutorial brother, I've a question though. If the modded armor is assign to for example; The FS-23 Battle Master and I wish to transfer those skin visuals to PH-56 Jaguar. How would I be able to do that? Thank you for your time and have a great day brother.

@@thegongoolzler2677 that is a great question! I personally haven’t made mods for games, but I do know that when the mod is being made it can be assigned to replace a specific piece of armor. I believe the creator will have the ability to do just what you are asking, however the player will have to utilize what the creator has graphically changed in game. My best advice would be to see if there’s a mod that overhauls the armor set passive you’re looking for. For example the space marine mod in this video overhauled the fortified commando that has the trait extra padding. Hopefully the game devs add a vanity feature at some point so that we can utilize all the passives on the cosmetic of our choice o7

I've renamed the patch_ to be e.g. patch_0, patch_1, etc however the only file that works is the patch_0. I haven't touched any other part of the files and I've placed it in the data folder. However when I do go to rename the files a warning comes up stating that renaming the file extension the file might be come unusable. I have made sure the mods are up to date. Is there anything I could of done wrong? Please help.

That prompt of it might become unusable doesn’t guarantee that statement. Hit yes or okay.

Following for answers. Having the same issue, if its similar it says its redundant and prioritizes one over the rest even after i do the patch_1 and verify files through steam. Ps im on vortex so maybe thats an issue?

@@robertcole8732 could be i'm not sure if vortex modifies the files. I'd use the Helldivers 2 dedicated mod manager by teutinsa if your going the mod manager route. Maybe I'll make a video on that.

@@eriksilva8072 that’s not necessary, you don’t even have to verify the integrity of your files every time, it’s just a safety net to make sure your game is stable

so I tried doing this but the only one that works is the patch 0 mod, i renamed the other ones in sequence from 0-4 so 5 total but only 0 works

Things you could check. Some mods may replace the same models. Additionally some mods from creators may not work after updates if the creators aren't keeping up with the mods.

Question. How do I most efficiently remove mods? Do i just validate the files? How do I then return them? Just asking.

@@erevouder5213 if you dragged those files to your desktop you’ll have them if your just adding a copy to your data folder. To delete I’ll click on date added and you can identify them easily as the files will all have the same sequence of letters and numbers preceded by patch _#.

Make a back up of your data folder for Helldivers 2. Retry the steps to try and recreate the issue.

I have not, there are plenty of CC's bigger than me that are using cosmetic mods. That's not to say that anti-cheat couldn't actually ban you. I would recommend a cosmetic mod that has plenty of downloads. That'll indicate that its being used alot as well as the dates mods are updated.

On steam find Helldivers 2, right click and scroll down to manage and then click browse local files. The mod should be there you’ll know as it’ll have a patch_1 for example. Change the number if it already exists here in the data folder.

@@B-rex127 not necessarily, but changing it in the data folder will show you if you have a duplicate when you drag and drop your mod into your data folder. You can do so prior to dropping if you’re sure of the sequence number you’re renaming.

@@grimnar3197 solid question. There are no bans that I am aware of for cosmetic changes to the game. I believe the developers would be able to distinguish the changes to damage values of exploiters or general reports from other players. Cosmetic mods are only visible to you, or those that also have them installed. Additionally there are many creators covering HD2 who are actively using visual mods in their videos and live streams. This is not to say that it isn’t subject to change whether you can or not. I’d suggest joining the HD2 official discord to see if those changes are announced.

I'm assuming there's no duplicate reskins, as in two different mods that reskin the same armor/weapon. I'd honestly go the Helldivers Mod Manager route if you'd like an easier time running and offloading mods as you wouldn't have to change any file names.

i installed the isaac clarke armor mod and it said that there was one file than was not verified but i still launched the game and the armor it should replace is just nothing, like litteraly nothing

Is this your only mod? Check the posts section on the Isaac Clarke mod page. If your creator is 4Koddda it looks like he's no longer modding for HD2 so this mod may not work properly after updates.

unfortunatly thats just not how modding works, on console you dont have access to modifications of your files. it doesnt matter if you have someones psn account, you need access to the actual files themselves.
