Thanks Andy. This is very helpful. Finally understood what connecting big shapes means in a practical sense through your value study. I’ve been struggling with getting the correct value during painting as I would just layering pigments in as I go and the more I layer the worst it looks. I think doing a value study beforehand is going to help a lot. Not many artist on KZbin emphasize on value study and your video is one of the best demonstration on why that’s important. Thanks for sharing this on KZbin for all of us to learn.
