To explain Hollow Purple (No Spoilers): When Gojo is using Purple he is sending a field of hypothetical particles called "tachyons" that move faster than light. These particles are considered imaginary in physics and violate causality. In simple terms. Purple erases everything in its path.

Purple was described as a technique where the power to attract (Blue) and repel (Red) are imbricated on Gojo's infinity, thereby creating a sphere of spilling imaginary mass. As far as I know, Gojo's ability was never said or demonstrated to move faster than light (the theory that tachyons would be superluminal would mean that they by default move faster than light and you would need theoretically infinite energy for them to decelerate to the speed of light, or rather, the speed of causality). In this very episode, Purple moves too slow to catch up with Hanami, for example. E: In short, the conclusion is that Gojo essentially creates a field where particles are destabilized (tachyon condensation), thereby essentially destroying any physical object and then it degenerates bsck into normal particles like the Higgs boson. Or something.

I know this is old But i saw someone spout literal nonsense about what Hollow Purple was and feel the need to clear it up Minor spoilers ahead Gojo's hollow purple is created by using the Lapse Blue technique (basically one of the default applications of the Limitless technqiue like the Infinity) and Reversal Red together to create a imaginary (not real) mass where propulsion (red) and attraction (blue) are in effect at once and this collision of opposing factors creates a space where matter is simply destroyed upon contact.

I'm starting to understand Gojous ability, or at least how each functions. This isn't spoilers just my observation from (rewatching) his 3 fights. By gripping his hands together he is able to teleport to a specified location. He is able to stand on Air/Water by creating a Infinite barrier underneath his (Or other peoples) feet. The Red Infinity creates a powerful beam. Physical? Blue Infinity Amplifier, possibly increases the effect of a different infinity, so creating purple. Purple Infinity erases Matter in its entirety. (Or is at least a more powerful version of Red) Domain Expansion Limitless overloads the Mind with visions of alternate realities, to the point it's Physically and Mentally impossible to move.
