Hey everyone, this is the much requested extension to my previous Steph Curry doc from 3 years ago. I'd originally planned to have this done in a few weeks, but my goodness you wouldn't believe the amount of edits / reedits / reuploads, etc I had to go through to get this online. Hopefully those issues are fully resolved, fingers crossed.

Steph Curry is one of the few players to revolutionize basketball and take it to a new level. The reason he’s the most popular player is because he’s the most relatable. Not everyone can be 6’6” and jump out of the stadium. Everyone can learn to shoot and handle.

It’s not only that Curry changed the game, but it’s also that he changed the the perception teams had of smaller and supposedly weaker players. This opens the door for so much new players to come in the future - it’s very exciting to think about 😁

I am given shit for this by every person I know that experienced the Dream and Redeem Teams, but I wholeheartedly believe that the 2024 US Olympic Mens Basketball team is the greatest force ever assembled in the history of the sport. Sure, many of its greatest players are past their primes, but players like Curry don't need to be in their prime to save games or put on performances like he did in the gold medal match.

Damn, I'm from Metro Detroit. At 50 now, I was all about the Bad Boys era regarding watching basketball. My dad would bust through my bedroom door, thinking I was killing someone. I was just watching Detroit basketball. For whatever reason, I stopped watching sports religiously in the early 2000s. Heard of Curry ofcorse. Had know idea he was this Badass! This Mutha Fucker rarely hits the rim he is so precise. I'm 6"2 185 now. But in high school, I was 5"4 110lb's. I love it when a little guy proves everyone wrong. Believing in himself and overcoming ankle injuries. Beyond the physicality of basketball, if you consistently put the ball in its home, great things happen. Curry is an absolute killa!

There’s no question, he CHANGED and REVOLUTIONIZED how the entire NBA game is played today.
@shanealuska7632 күн бұрын
He changed it for the worse. Every team wants to shoot 3s now. Like the game changed to a Harlem globetrotter league. 3s, 3s, 3s, dribble, dribble, 3.
@mirvzdnb2 күн бұрын
@@shanealuska763 It’s not really Curry’s fault. That’s a mistake in the scoring system itself. Of course teams are gonna take the more valuable shot, especially with players today getting better and better from long distance. It would be DUMB not to focus on 3s when you can clearly see how effective it is. Pro sports is not about how good it looks, but what the maximum value is you can get out of certain situations and basketball teams just understood that by now. Make the inside shot worth 4 points and teams will almost completely stop to throw 3s, just because it gives more points - it’s simple as that.

Steph Curry to me is the greatest player of this generation. Better than LeBron, better than KD. As was mentioned in this video, the NBA right now as we speak has evolved into a three point shooters paradise. AND THIS MAN WAS THE REASON WHY! You see players no matter what level they are on all jack up threes on repeat. Why? BECAUSE OF STEPH! Not to mention he proved that you can win a title no matter what kind of supporting cast you have. Think about this. The Warriors before he got there had won 1 playoff series since the Run TMC Era back in the early 90s. Yes the We Believe team was an amazing story, and is the biggest reason why DubNation is what it is today being perhaps the loudest and most loyal fans in the NBA. But when Steph arrived, EVERYTHING CHANGED! Although for as great as he was early on, he needed the right hand to guide him, to mature as a player and leader, and take that next step towards icon status. Enter Steve Kerr. His 2015 and 2016 MVP seasons I think are years that we will probably never see again. Why? Because he not only broke the three pointers made in a season record, but each time, HE SHATTERED IT! There were times during each season where it seemed like he just couldn't be stopped, and he wasn't! I also love the fact that the game where he hit 13 threes against New Orleans in the 2016-17 season, especially his post shot celebration after the 13th made three, inspired the hit record "Side to Side" by Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. Then theres the 16-1 run in the playoffs that year, BOY WAS THAT A TREAT WATCH! Utter domination of whoever they lined up against not only because had much better talent by a significant margin, but because they had revenge for 3-1 against Cleveland on their minds. I will say Steph's greatest achievements were the 2022 Finals, and the 2024 Olympics. In 2022 there were so many questions on whether the Dubs could still maintain their dynasty despite several changes over the past few years, and we didn't know how healthy the supporting cast around Steph especially Klay Thompson. Not to mention we didn't know whether Chase Center would be as daunting as Oracle Arena was. Well, Steph and the Warriors went Enter Sandman on whoever they faced in the playoffs, as well as the Celtics in the Finals. They shut every single doubter of theirs up on repeat for 2 months straight. Even though it was a weaker squad than previous championship years, it was the sweetest of them all. The 2024 Olympics was the cherry on top of the sundae. Look at the game against Serbia. Without Steph throwing a haymaker in the 2nd Half, the US doesn't win that game. Thank god he did because we would have never heard the end of it had they lost given all of the comparison to the 1992 Dream Team. As for the Gold Medal Game against the France, roll the footage. To me when you look at which teams and players define an era over the course of NBA History, they are easy to identify. Over the last decade the team that has been the gold standard of this league has been the Golden State Warriors, and the face of that dynasty has been Steph Curry the whole time. That is why I think that he is probably the best player in the game during that timeframe. When you think about it, LeBron, Kawhi, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Luka, Ja, so on and so on for as great as they were rarely won titles in their prime (In KD's case he won titles with the Dubs) could have won multiples titles in that span IF NOT FOR DUB NATION! Thats why Steph stands out above all of them during the 2010s and 2020s. CASE CLOSED!
@ygwaltgmbКүн бұрын
Most skilled/talented yea!! NOT the better than kd and bron tho unfortunately size will always be an advantage in sports especially basketball and those guys are 6'9 & 6'11 guards. Now if steph was 6'7 & still maintained all his skill and talent...... Greatest Basketball Player Ever and it wouldn't be close.
