Yep, I'm a "foster fail" myself. Couldn't resist my foster, Sweetie. My first Doxie and she was a miniature and about 10 years old, but never acted like it. She had a white mohawk , large long eye brows, and a beard. She wore it well. She came housebroken and would bark to let me know she wanted to go out ( yay, a foster already trained ) Doxie's are smart and she was a bossy girl (good way). She'd come and let me know it was 9 p.m. snack time, time to take her out, etc.. Former owners didn't take care of her and she had 3 serious conditions, and about 6 years later she died in her sleep, which I feel was a blessing. Thanks Steph for rescuing your little pal, it is such a great thing to do !!

Oh yes! My pups are 7months old now. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ stil with the midnight potty breaks. And we had just gotten them on a potty schedule that worked when a couple of days ago the bigger of the 2 started messing again . 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Like really?! It’s been a few years since I’ve had puppies in the house but it’s so worth it. Today I got a world class puppy facial. 😂

Having fostered about 15 puppies, sometimes litters, from overseas (I’m Danish we bring dogs from high kill shelters all over the world and find them homes in Denmark, a place without a lot of shelter animals) oh my goodness. Morning potty time with 6 puppies. Chaos I tell you

Sadly covid and emotional support pets are being surrendered at alarming rates across the country. As a former rescue person i strongly suggest Binx get obedience training quickly because shelters and rescuers struggle to find homes for the cutest sweetest dogs that are buck wild. My hope for Binx is that he is in his forever home which could be up to 16 years for a small breed.

That was my biggest worry when I heard how people were adopting pets during the pandemic. Animals are living, loving creatures and are not to be just thrown away because it isn't trendy any more. You can't just kick out children with behavior problems; the same laws should apply to pets as well.

Thank you for loving him with his full personality showing, and not treating him as a build a bear. You didn't choose his actions but yet you both chose eachothers love, and when things settle down and it's nap time, it is the most beautiful moment of oh my God! This little guy is real look at him!!!!! That's how it is with our two rescue puppies!!! I still cannot believe it no matter how bold that they are!!!!

Make sure to teach him how to get out of the pool. My mom’s dog drowned in her neighbors pool because it didn’t know how to get to the steps. Also thanks for showing the messy side of having a dog LOL.

It isn't compulsory there to have pools fenced/secured ?..usually glass enclosure these days. And, yes...always show dogs where steps are as well to make doubly sure.

I took in a senior yorkie last fall. He is a ball of fur and runs around the house. Follows me everywhere. Sleeps at the foot of my bed. I can’t imagine being in the house without him. He does get scared when he realizes we are on the way to the vet. Pure love.

By a struck of luck, my sister’s family were given a 5 month old puppy. He’s full of energy and I spoil him so much. Just like all my nieces and nephews, he’s just an important part of my life. I know the importance of being obedient, but as long as our puppy is potty trained, we keep thing within his reach, and so forth, we can say that he can burn his energy doing his crazy things. He’s our fur full of energy and my therapy.
