Hamsters often have 1 eye that is closed, most of the time they open it themselves after a few hours or a couple of days at most, it's just the eyelid sealing it's self together temporarily, I think it's often caused by irritation to the eye and the eye forms a sticky protective substance that temporarily glues the eyelids together.

I had a VERY similar thing happen to one kitten in a litter that had been born to my family. One eye just opened up before the other. We thought he had lost an eye so we named him Jack after The "One Eyed Jack" in a standard deck of playing cards.

Title feels a little like clickbait. Get people concerned about the wellbeing when it was okay all along. Related note I'm sure you're keeping them safe but wouldn't you picking them up frequently and introducing them to a predator cause both the mother and babies unnecessary stress? I get handling them at a young age helps acclimate them to humans but I'm still a little worried.

he did move them off of sawdust also the mother used to not be on sawdust as he put her in a terrarium if you want to call it that but i think he only put them on sawdust to monitor them i guess or so bugs or what ever are in the soil like isopods and worms and springtails don’t harm the baby’s while they were super young or sum
