I absolutely love this scene JM and SF have always had incredible chemistry. They have the "old married couple" element down like no other pair I've seen in daytime. The dialogue here and its basis in their rich, complicated history are what make this scene--though not over-the-top--incredibly dramatic. I especially love the last few lines of the clip and the smirk on Eric's face at the end. That "Oh, Stephanie" look and that realization that he (just like the viewers) knows that she's right.

Eric could be a cruel man but he contradicts himself all the time depending if he is with a new young wife or crawling back to Stephanie. Then he was full of flowery compliments. If Stephanie ever got close to another man he usually got in the way of it by crawling back to her. Still they had such great chemistry and when they were good they were very good. Eric was definitely the love of her life even to the point of obsessiveness and I do believe Eric genuinely loved her too. So miss Susan Flannery an absolutely amazing actress. Whether you loved or hated Stephanie, Susan's performances of the complex character of Stephanie were always the best thing about this show. Bold and the Beautiful died with Stephanie in my opinion. I cant watch it now, a shadow of the show it was.

The real problem with Eric and Stephanie is Stephanie being unwilling to accept he was no longer happy with her, and her constant manipulation and begging to make him want to be in a marriage he checked out of years before. Eric was never a bad man for people who truly know the history, and have watched the early seasons. I’ll never understand why so many viewers felt bad for Stephanie. He was miserable and unfulfilled which I’m sure would be a disaster for any person, but especially an artist……and instead of Stephanie constantly wanting to own him like a possession, she should have just let him go. I honestly felt bad for HIM!!
