Funny seeing this after snake pit USA Catch wrestling video on countering this exact guard. Always cool to also see the clear difference in BJJ and Catch Mentality Kyokushinkai, Catch Wrestler, and Dutch Style Kickboxer/Honorary Nak Muay (title given by Nak Muay i sparred with due to my clinching technique being considered high class especially considering I don’t formally train in the style but only spar with its sea of talent) myself

Coach Stephan, Need your advice. In my class, I have 50-year-old recent blue belt who does not like to guide the basics, does not like to discuss on any questions, curses a lot, randomly says to shut up to lower belts or newbies and unfortunately, the instructors at my school are Brazilians and they do not understand English. It just makes me feel sick when I go to class. I do not know If I should I stop going to the class and work at the home gym, because of me being vocal and trying to correct him made things even worst and I keep getting verbal attacked and bullied, I initially thought BJJ is a great sport BUT lately started to realize it is just creating a negative energy, I am a contractor, I work with military and best folks in IT, I also do auditing for instructors on various aspects from technical to non-technical, combat sports is my passion and always has been. I do not want to go back to my old mud dog days of back and forth silly arguments or getting personal/physical. ATM I am completely avoiding him and basically, he is non-existent to keep my focus and positivity, appreciate if anyone has a better way for me to deal with this type of situation. REMEMBER I am 33 years old looking for wise advice.

The instructors need to know what's going on and how it makes you feel. I guess you would have wanted to know too if you were instructor yourself, right? You could google translate your text above into portuguese and hand it over to the instructors and wait to see how they are going to deal with it. If their solution doesn't meet your standard of what it should have been, then you're at the wrong school/environment and you know what to do..

I tried option #1 but he is really bad at his behavior he gets worse as I try to approach him, I got to know he is an Indian and normally my experience in dealing with them is they are rude, don't care about how others feel or have the willingness to talk or majority of the time they don't allow you finish, very frustrating to deal with. I appreciate your response and time on this. Your point on being assertive in life is very important, I understand that but for combat sports school I take things very easy going without letting people know who I am and all that, it is better to stay undercover, also I do not want to mix my emotions or personal capabilities/my background into this excellent time on mat, as it does not take much time for me to deal with this type of personality in general. Thank you.

What sweeps or attacks are there from that DMX position? Transition to RDLR?
