Someone needs to remind these folks since LJ has been QB BAL has led NFL rushing 4x. This is before DH! If the OC doesn’t forget to utilize his legs in the DESIGNED running attack with the zone/read options, teams are at their mercy. It literally creates huge plays for both he and DH as teams account for LJ and it opens the pass game as well as puts the TOP in BAL favor. It’ll be hard to beat them if they have the ball most game.

@ exactly. And here the thing, their skill sets benefit one another when the OC calls the game right. LJ in pistol/shotgun formations where he can keep is his game but DH is the beneficiary when defenders pause in case LJ keeps. Vv, single back/I-formation is DHs game where he can get downhill but LJ benefits because playaction allow him to boot or rollout outside the pocket as defenders are worried about letting DH get going. I feel the OC has done a terrible job at meshing their strengths together. But these past two weeks have given me hope as they’re at least basing the O on LJs running ability.

Yeah, and that’s why the start of the season was relatively easy for them compared to the Ravens. Steelers took advantage of that easier start and got ahead in the division, and now things are leveling out since they have this very tough stretch. Fact is if you’re on this level, you should at the very least win 1 of the three games between KC, Baltimore, and Philly. Drop all 3 and it very clearly shows Pittsburgh is a tier below.

@@danielbowers3226 Steelers fans boasting about their record against Baltimore were very quick to dismiss the reasoning in the two games where Lamar was injured (2021 & 2022) and the two games where the Ravens benched their starters for most of the game after locking up the 1 seed (2019 & 2023). I know that wasn’t you necessarily but it’s just an odd narrative. Ravens also lost Justice Hill who was having a great game and is 40% of our backfield and Rashod Bateman was wearing a boot all week before going in there and catching a TD, in addition our W3 being out and missing 2 members of our secondary. Everyone has injuries. A hobbled TJ Watt and no Pickens matters but the better team still clearly won Saturday. The Steelers are a good team. They’re just not one of the AFC elites. Wilson is extremely flawed and that RB room leaves a lot to be desired. The defense has to be dominant for them to win against the really good teams.

Well, Harbaugh has also cost Baltimore a few times in very critical games. The JK Dobbins controversy (& few others) opened many fans' eyes to the fact that Harbs knew their strategy wasn't working and told Monken to recommit to the running game against the worst rushing defense in the Kanas City Chiefs. Still, as always, Harbs lacked the courage to make the critical decision and decided to appease everyone. Analytic bible screwed any common sense to use Dobbins and a few times this season with Henry. The man isn't this grand football strategist, but the Eisenhower of the NFL world who cannot make the correct decisions. How many coordinators since post-2013 have Ozzie & the front office hired to maintain Harb's career in Baltimore? When they keep repeating the same cycle over & over again, and still Harbs remains the constant thing, then Ravens fans need to hold John accountable. The man cannot even retain the discipline or reduce the penalties every season by his players.

As a Ravens fan, Harbs remains a constant concern because no matter how often fans tell him to commit to the run, Harbs drops the strategy and lets Lamar carry everything to throw the ball more. How many coordinators have the Ravens gone through to fix the issues when Harbs remains the lone factor? He loves to appease everyone, and like Eisenhower, he cannot make the necessary critical decisions when the game plan falls apart. This isn't all on Monken, but everything leads to Harbaugh. You talk about Lamar benefiting from Henry being in the backfield, and not to take ANYTHING away from Henry, but if look at the film notice how often the defense is chasing Lamar when Henry has the ball. If you are fair, you can factor MVP into the fear of Lamar being at QB.

If Lamar is going to be held by a standard that he set, then we as Ravens fans just want other QBs held to that same standard if you're going to argue they are better. Simple. If you don't give Lamar excuses for his WRs or line, don't give it to others. When Lamar had to be the leading rusher, nobody considered how it affected his passing mechanics and mental focus down the stretch. Now that he doesn't have to be, his passing has improved substantially. Don't say Lamar is held to this standard that he set, but then don't hold other QBs to it while claiming they're better or more deserving of MVP.

Unpopular opinion. I agree with the criticism. Why? Because I don't care about the MVP and I'd bet Lamar doesn't either. Nothing would change the narrative more than an SB win. I'm with Orlovsky here. They are extremely frustrating to watch when you know no one can beat them on their 'A' game with a resurging defense. It's what made last year so disappointing. So to see them shooting themselves in the foot with penalties, costly ball carrying issues and random cases of dropsies makes me worry. I thought last year was the better overall team (players, coaching, etc.) but this year's offense has a much higher ceiling to play from behind if needed. They just need to have a consistent 4 games in the playoffs.

When the Ravens are balanced on the run and pass, the stats show that's they sweet spot when it comes to winning. When they go against that like in the AFC Championship game, they lose. Their Achilles has been penalties, they need to address them ASAP.
