@K Dub Jordan wouldn't have done much differently. Swap in Jordan for James on the Cavs, do they beat the KD Curry Klay Warriors? LeBron averaged 34.5ppg -11reb-9.6as in all Warriors series losses. Also 2/4 of the Cavs finals runs Kyrie and KLove were both injured, does Jordan still beat the Warriors with those injury odds and out perform those statistics? Does Jordan swapped for James on the 2013-14 Heat team beat the best Spurs ever assembled? There's no Pippen putting up 20pts 8reb 6as for him and playing elite defense instead he'll have an old DWade putting one of his worst offensive playoff performances in his career and a Bosh who couldn't grab a rebound to save his life. LeBron on the other hand was shooting lights out at 67%TS and 52% from 3 that series. And still lost by a record margin defeat with the entire 2013-14 Spurs averaging 47% from the 3pt line AS A TEAM, the Heat on the other hand shot 36% from the 3pt line (not including LeBron). Or even better the 07 Cavs team where a 22 year old LeBron carried a team of scrubs and made it to the finals only to run into a prime Tim Duncan Spurs trio, leading to a 0-4 sweep (At 22 Jordan was a rookie who would get knocked out of the first round the next 3 years of his career). Personally I don't think Jordan beats any of those teams in LeBron's shoes, and that just goes to show the game is far more team oriented and LeBron has ran into some of the NBA's greatest teams. There is only one finals series that I truly believe Jordan wins that LeBron didn't and that is the 2011 series vs the Mavericks, this series was an anomaly in LeBron's career, he averaged his all time finals low of 17.8ppg that series, while the finals averages of his 8 other finals appearances is 30ppg). Jordan on the other hand never failed to statistically perform EVER and there would be no question that Jordan would've shown up to that series and closed it. So pretty much if Jordan was LeBron, LeBron would have one more championship going 4-5 rather than 3-6. But now does Jordan beat the 2016 GSW and pull one of the NBA's biggest upsets in history which LeBron did? I'm unsure, it could very well be that if Jordan was LeBron he could also be 3-6 while the Warriors would end up being 4x champs and the Cavs still would be ringless.

The dissapointing point was bulls mastered the 90'$ an it was time for jordan to move on ' grab his little brooks brother briefcase & step into the nx challenge of ultra competive world of junior v.p. .... What if jordan had gone an applied with 6 championship on resume to the 98 yankees for junior v.p , when 3 championship in a row there , now 9 world championship , than get head coaching job as dodgers just for being known as a two time winner ' than fail as dodger manager & go take oregon head coaching job ' just bc he michael jordan .... Than maybe win lil there an move his way up in nfl ranks an be head coach for 2 years in tampa bay ... Belichek & jordan whats his name , you know so & so ' guy with hot wife ' well belichek an jordan his only ever nfl head coaches .... But in the end the truth was told ' jordan wanted to flop out nba after 3 years ' myb excuse old war injury brought me back home ' an fck the local white moms at ymca youth basketball team ! Yah us fans in 90's said larry who magic what ' told mike we can fly an wanna be like him ' but he quit on all the fans that was in for long run of greatness ... Oh well ! Lifetime achievment got put mj outside top 10 ? #11 and well bron gotta be rt behind bc not 9 for 9 in nba titles .... I think Scotty did the responsible (and correct) decision. Especially considering the personal situation he was in. Obviously no one can predict succession. Let alone all time greatness! He was a responsible kid and made an admirable decision. And, given the team's unprecedented success (which for a big part of it Scotty was responsible), Jerry should have terminated the old contract and offer him a new and appropriate one.
@ikexbankai Жыл бұрын
And Michael should have also put they feet to the fire. Michael said just once I’m not resigning if Scotty doesn’t get a renegotiation they would have done it in a heartbeat. That’s what true teamwork, friendship, put the whole over an individual greater good looks like

@@Optimus-Prime-Rib He signed the contract for security. He had a serious back injury that people thought could cut his career short. He wanted to make sure he and his family were taken care of. That's likely why he didn't take a shorter deal because he didn't know, at the time, if his career would be that long. The Jerry's should have realized his value to the team and let him know they appreciated him by reworking his deal. Contracts can be adjusted, as we see in all sports when a player shows his worth. He was the defacto #2 behind MJ on one of the greatest dynasties ever. He deserved to be compensated as such. For him to be making less than Luc Longley, Tony Kukoc, Dennis Rodman and Ron Harper in his final year is an insult. What Scottie could have done was hold out prior to the 94-95 season demanding he get a new contract. In 93-94, he had stepped into the leadership role, and lead the Bulls to 55-wins, and they probably get back to the finals if not for refs robbing them in Game 5 against the Knicks. If he held out, management would have had to budge, because they already had no MJ (at the time), and Pippen was keeping them afloat. And the same way Reinsdorf flew to Montana to get Phil to sign the one year $6M deal to come back for the last season, he could have done something similar for Pippen.

It's almost as if people who falsely claim that LeBron is the GOAT, don't even understand what that acronym stands for, and what it actually means. The only reason Jordan has only 6 rings is because he left the NBA for 2 years in his prime. He easily could have won 4, 5, or even 8 rings in a row. Let that sink in for a moment.

Lets not forget Lebron entered the league at 18 years old. Jordan entered at 21 after 3 years of college ball (in which he scored the game winner for the national championship... as a FRESHMAN. The stats show that Jordan turned it on more than anyone else when he was on the court. Sure people may pass some of his records due to being in the league for more time, but his scoring title/defensive 1st team stats, and his PPG records for a career in not only the regular season, but in the playoffs and finals wont be touched, and speak volumes for who he was. "FAMILY" was what the bulls management should have thought. To make a decision to break up a family, dynasty of 6 time champs.. blows my mind. Imagine if they went up to 7-8 championships.

It hurts to think that MJ couldve kept on playing from 99-02. He'd still be only 36 y.o. in 99 and Scottie would be 34 y.o. So many what-ifs..

I'm from the UK LeBron James isn't fit to lace MJ sneakers. Jordan would storm this era and LeBron had to go to Miami to break his duck. Jordan led a Bulls team and came up when it mattered time after time.

The fact that Lebron is even in this conversation just shows HOW GREAT Lebron actually is. I don’t hear anything about Kareem, or Bill Russell, Wilt, Kobe, Shaq, or Steph. This just made me pissed at Jerry Krause and Reinsdorf all over again. Not only did they cost Chicago 2 additional championships IMO, the reputation they earned made it virtually impossible for the Bulls to land a top tier free agents in the subsequent years. 20+ years since and the biggest free agents signings for the Bulls were Carlos Boozer and a past his prime Ben Wallace.
@eliezer1able4 жыл бұрын
I understand what Stephen A is saying about how it’s mean that they didn’t give Scottie a better contract. What about all the times someone gets injured and the team doesn’t get a break on the money. The players don’t say oh bec I got injured here’s more money. So why should the team do it. It was a risk on both sides. If Scottie has continuing back problems than his contract would be worthless bec he wouldn’t be playing
@pomerlain89244 жыл бұрын
But do remember how the Bulls' front office took care of Jay Williams after his motorcycle accident. He was not licensed to be riding one, and it violated the terms of his contract. And yet, the Bulls still gave him $3M for his medical expenses when they waived him. So if they can do that for a guy who violated the terms of his contract, Scottie deserved that ten-fold for playing an integral part in the Bulls' championships, even if he was at risk of his back injury cutting his career short.

MJ, Pippen, Phil Jackson and co. transformed the Bull's team from a losing team and subpar organization to the greatest show on the planet. The 2 Jerry's, especially Krause became deluded by the fame and fortune of being in charge of the greatest show on the planet. Yes they were in charge but they couldn't deal with the fact that they were tremendously successful, not because of their own brilliance, but because they got lucky and just happened to land MJ the GOAT. Sometimes the key to being successful and happy and content is admitting that somehow hey I got insanely lucky but I'll take it.

CedRock Starr Kobe Bryant is 5-2 in the NBA Finals and Lebron James is 3-9 in the NBA Finals. Lebron James never had to play with Smush Parker and Kwame Brown. He made it to those NBA Finals in a top heavy NBA Eastern Conference. Lebron James is the Greatest Small Forward in NBA History. But rings are imperative and I would say that Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Shaq, Tim Duncan and Magic Johnson and Bill Russel are Greater than Lebron James in the G.O.A.T. Debate. Lebron James is going to have to win at least four more NBA Championships to be the Greatest of All Time and he has to do so while actually playing in those finals. It would be a daunting feat but I wouldn’t put it past him. Yet until then the excellent out of this world talent and postionless basketball Los Angeles Laker Small Forward Lebron James will not be the greatest of all time. I think it is really cool though that he is playing for the Lakers what a cool way to get the franchise roaring again.
