@@jw9410I'm not sure if I'll go that far on being homeless but I do believe he's suffering from mental illness. Because for him to repeat all of these lies over and over something has to be wrong with him. Everyone knows Jordan never won a ring without him or Phil Jackson. But he's never been the most important piece, just like Kobe without Shaq in the earlier years. Kobe just was great enough to lead after Shaq was traded. Most guys in the Pippen role are thrilled to be apart of something that special but for some reason he's not. Clyde Drexler led Portland to the finals twice and lost both times. He went back in 95 with the Rockets as the 2nd option to Hakeem and finally won. You've never heard him complain because without Dream he's in the same boat as Barkley, Malone, and Ewing. A Hall of Famer without an NBA championship.

Mad love to Stephen A. for this segment. I loved the Bulls growing up in Chicago. My family didn’t have much money at the time and I was actually fortunate enough to get to go ONE Bulls game during that entire era. Bulls v Hawks during the 1996 season. It was wonderful🥹 Scottie Pippen is one of the greatest players to ever play the game. This is a fact. Jordan is THE greatest player to ever play the game. Jordan has never failed to give Pippen credit. It’s so very sad to see that for all these years, Pippen has been envious of Jordan. Last Dance just told the truth. No need to be upset. No one, not every Jordan, did everything right 100% of the time. Jordan didn’t give you a “headache” in game 7 of the 1990 ECF against the Pistons. Jordan didn’t make you sit out the last play of the game during the 1994 ECSF against the Knicks. That was all you. It’s fine though, that doesn’t take away from your greatness. As for Larisa, yes that is some shady 💩 but Jordan’s son is a grown man. He can’t tell his son who and who not to smash. Get it together brother. Get that hate out of your heart.
@dheerajsah

100% agree with all you said but Scottie was way more better than how they depicted him in the last dance, they just showed him as mentally week and not the amazing player that he was alongside Jordan, who had the ability to change the decision of the game at both ends of the court. Michael did him dirty and he is salty now, and the situation is getting bad and bad with time. Never ever did I think that this would happen, they were like brothers on the court

Yeah. Love Scottie but it was the truth. He and Krause were in a bitter contract dispute and he delayed his surgery as leverage hoping the Bulls would struggle to start the season and he would get his money. I remember this stuff like yesterday and its ashame Scottie at 57 doesnt have the maturity to simply own it with some contrition looking back at it all. Instead he's in denial and lashing out at everybody. Jordan didn't tell any lies on him...

@seancrowley3142 Жыл бұрын
@@dheerajsah I think Scottie was depicted exactly as he should have been. Jordan himself said Pippen was his greatest teammate. He also said that whenever someone says Jordan, they should also say Pippen. If that isn’t high praise, I don’t know what is! Besides, as good as Pippen was, he actually was mentally fragile. Rodman and the other Bad Boys intimated him. That’s why he had a “headache” in that game 7 1990 ECF. That 92 Knicks team also used to pick on him. Xavier McDaniel used to scare Pippen. I remember Jordan stood up for him and said “F** you!” right to McDaniel’s face. Just because he’s mentally weak, doesn’t mean he wasn’t a great player. James is also mentally weak but he’s one of the greatest of all time.

For as much credit as I want to extend to Pippen who obviously was a GREAT player, my defining memory of him was him choosing to take himself out of a playoff game because the play was going to another player. It’s hard for me to value his perspective on leadership and what constitutes a competitor knowing how many times he failed or quit because of petty reasoning. A truly great player who had less defining moments than most of his caliber IS the proof of Jordan’s greatness. Scottie seems like he’d be more satisfied with serving in a bigger role as the Joker than settling for being the Robin to Jordan’s Batman.

In my opinion, it all boils down to legacy. Scottie Pippen might feel jealous of Michael Jordan because Jordan is widely regarded as one of the greatest, if not the greatest, basketball player in history, while Scottie will always be in Jordan's shadow. Scottie seems to believe that by downplaying Jordan's achievements, he can raise his own status in the history books. However, it's truly hard to believe and quite absurd for Scottie to claim that Jordan is a bad player. Jordan was an extraordinary basketball player who inspired countless others. Allen Iverson wanted to emulate him, Kobe modeled his game after Jordan, and even LeBron James wore the number 23. Jordan's shoes were in such high demand that everyone wanted to buy them, whereas I have never seen anyone wearing Pippen's shoes, to be honest.

Beautifully stated Stephen A. When people compare MJ to other greats in regards to their teams, the one factor you need to know is that all MJ needed was to have a single teammate average 18 ppg to win three championships in a row. All he needed was a single all star to have that success. Compared to Bird, Magic, Lebron, Duncan and even Kobe, who have all had more help in their title runs, that is very very impressive. He was the most dominant offensive player ever, and arguably a top 5 defender ever.

I would rather Scottie address why hes REALLY mad, instead of hiding behind unintelligible hot takes, its embarrassing. Im not a fan of MJ the person either, but as a player? To say hes horrible?? Is criminally insane.

Scottie is in a bad place and MJ knows it. Like Stephen A said all his former teammates weren't saying nothing when he was leading you'll to titles and you benefited from that by getting better contracts. Years later now everyone trying to bash Jordan because he got so much credit.

Jordan average 22 playing about a quarter a game in 86. He was limited because he was trying to come back too soon but he knew he was ready. Krause wanted to not risk Jordan and get a really high draft pick but Jordan refused to sit out. He scored 63 in Boston that year in the playoffs. His team was bad so they couldn't beat the beat team of the Bird era but he was always going to try. Jordan was building his legacy way before he had a good team. Scottie can say Jordan was bad but why was Bird calling Jordan "God dressed up as Michael Jordan" after playing against him?

Sad that Pippen has turned to this,I idolized him for decades. It's not possible to have watched Jordan in his prime and not know he's the GOAT. He transcended the sport and changed it forever.

Man, Stephen A really nailed this. The biggest thing is anyone who been a fan of Stephen A at all knows he has worked a lot with Pippen. You could just hear the change in tone in Stephen A’s voice. He sounds like he’s reaching out to his friend, Pippen and saying, “cmon man, settle down. Are you ok? What are you doing?” You can hear Stephen A trying to direct certain points directly to Pippen, and I appreciate that. He’s trying to be real in a moment when that may be important. I mean, is anyone else besides me just flat out worried about Pippen from a mental health standpoint?

Most mental health issues occur from many different things, like a melting pot of trauma, substance abuse and stress. It can happen to anyone. Scottie is in the public eye and going through a tough time publicly. I hope he goes to private therapy for some time and not do these podcasts . Being a millionaire won’t make you happy . Stay positive people 🤙
