Jordan’s interaction with Malone and Stockton was shocking. After killing them in Game 3 Jordan still shook their hands and gave them a little side hug. Malone goes into the Bulls bus after the championship and gives Jordan a handshake and says it was poetic. Deep moments.

I started following the NBA around 2001 and grew up idolizing Kobe (even tho I hated him back then), T-Mac and especially Vince. Never understood the hype around MJ and those 90's Bulls tho. This documentary really showed everything I need to fully respect, what Mike, Scottie, Phil and all the other people involved accomplished at that time. What the Bulls managed to do, what Jordan managed to do...it's unreal. Truly inspiring. This 10-part feature was brilliant from start to finish.

@larryhoods 4 жыл бұрын
Been following the nba since 96-97. I had the privilege of watching MJ put in work. I still remember that swish to win game 6 in 98 lol. Kobe was the next closest thing to MJ. Lebron is more of a Magic/Scottie type in my opinion. MJ just had that aura. He put doubt, fear and intimidation in the minds of his opponents. And he did it not only the MUCH tougher, more physical era, but he did it a Russell Westbrook type energy and on both ends lol. He got a DPOY. Averaged 37 for a whole year!! That's like averaging 50 in today's game lol. Teams were only scoring like 80,90 points a game for a minute there with the bad boy pistons and the celtics were a little dirty, same as the Knicks. The pacers.. to me stats is like money, over time the numbers are gonna rise lol, so you need to account for inflation 😂. That's why what Lebron is doing, an impressive hall of famr career no doubt, but you can't lose 6 finals!! 🤦‍♂️. If you're going to call yourself the goat smh. 6 and 0 for MJ and you can see all the internal bull he had to get through. Can you imagine Lebron playing those bad bay pistons squads?!? Oh my.. and I know your post wasn't about Lebron but I still say a prime Scottie Pippen would've shut him down!!

Man I could not agree more! Vinsanity, TMac, A.I., and Kobe were the guys I was looking up to when I first started watching, weirdly enough about the same time. Well said! The G.O.A.T convo contraversy seems to grow even more with time, but I will undeniably crown Mike any time its brought up. Granted I only personally witnessed his game at a much later point in his career.. I will say however, Mamba is the next best thing, in the modern era at least. Simply put... No one, or their likeness for that matter, could hold a candle to Mike's legacy, much less remain as relevant for as long as he has/will continue to.

Correct, these commentators today don't do any research. 2000s are the roughest decade sinces early 1970s, this rule changes narrative started one year after Lebron james came in the lead 2004-5 league why in 2003-4 The defensive efficiency rating was the best since 1976 102.5 very important stat field goal percentage was as low as the 70s 43.9 and points as well 93.4. Also Pace 90.0 per 100 possessions. 2000s also lead in blocks and the 3 second violation and zone defense was add after that actually offset the hand checking rule. In 2010 to 2014 the league's defensive efficiency rating was better than the 1990s as well, until 2018 the Pace of the game changes, no like the ridiculous Pace of when Michael Jordan walked into the 103.5 vs 100.2 today. Fans need to do better research before we attempt to use fallacious hyperbole as a narrative.

@@scuppo I hope you're wrong. Reinsdorf is no longer running the bulls. His son is. His son hired a new GM with better rapport with players that happens to be black. I'm from the UK and grew up hearing about MJ or catching a glance in magazines or on international news on cable. Then basketball came to C4 and I'd record every game. This documentary was brilliant I want to watch it again, this was pure hunger, drive and killer instinct to be the best but also he wanted his teammates to be the best they could be. As he got older he realised that if he could rely on on his teammates when the moment came, they'd deliver. I love the fact everytime someone crossed him on the court, that was pure motivation for him to excel even more.

I remember absolutely despising Jordan and Bulls growing up. I was so resentful about them defeating Magic and my beloved Lakers in '91. It didn't stop me from being part of the Jordan fan club, or having his posters all over my room, though (the teenage years were confusing, you know?) I always wanted someone to pay him back for the Lakers. I was sick all the talk of him being the GOAT. I knew he was the GOAT, but I didn't want it to be so. But, this documentary, which is probably the best I've ever seen, really changed everything. How could someone watch this, and not root for this man; this team? I really appreciate what you have done, ESPN. I was hooked every moment. I truly believe everyone should watch it, whether they care about basketball or not. If nothing more, learn about the mindset of these larger-than-life icons. Every chance you get, whether you love or hate them, take time to listen to the words of these incredibly rare people to understand true motivation; the ability to transcend any goal, regardless of the odds.

So, the issue here that tons of people are gonna say, Jordan didn't truly face anybody, because I think he faced a different team every year he went, meanwhile Bron 7 of his nine trips were against the Spurs and the Warriors all of which were Squads were he wasn't the favorite
