I’m very happy that someone with influence actually addressed the fact that Josh Gordon has a real addiction issue. While Rusty didn’t go into detail on it, it is sad to see all the people ridiculing Josh Gordon for “not being able to stop smoking.” For those that don’t know he was not suspended for smoking weed, he was suspended because starting around middle school he would pop pills and take harder drugs like cocaine (apparently because many people around him were dying and it helped him to cope with the depression a young boy would feeling seeing friends and family die) and continued to through his career because he had a real addiction. Thankfully from what I’ve heard he’s been getting help and has come a long way.

I do hope the best for Josh Gordon because addiction is extremely a vile disease. I hope he is doing better now, and if he hasn't; I do hope Darren Waller and Maxx Crosby reach out because they have had horrible addictions as well that they have overcame; and they would be able to understand where Gordon is coming from.

Idk what you mean by not that long ago. Bad boy pistons were "toxic" and it's not like them smacking players out the air didnt result in fouls because they did. It's not like you could legally elbow people back then. Also toxic locker rooms like Michael Jordan's was extremely significant especially when the book "Jordan Rules" came out in the mid 90s. Sure nowadays the refs are softer / ejection happy but even in Jordan's era audibly insulting other players was a foul

The “mental health” thing with Ben simmons. Ben Simmons literally the moment the playoffs were over and he got what he wanted point blank. Disgraceful is you ask me. You seriously can’t expect anyone to believe he said no to 19 millions dollars simply because his mindset was straight poop. Everything else was right though.

I haven’t watched ESPN first take in years. I just don’t like Stephen A’s tendency to make everything about race (and I’m black). He thinks he’s a pioneer for the black community but continues to destroy players characters. Him and several other analysts and KZbinrs have dismissed mental health plenty of times as well. The hypocrisy in him is just too much to watch. I’m glad Max left the show too.

To your question at 14:41:"What gives you that right over them? Why does that rule not apply to you?" Steven A'ss answer: "I make comparable to player-in-the-League $, and have accomplished a larger platform/influence in their sport [and therefore mine too] than they have." Probably. At least in his mind.

Not to mention, SAS has called Lamar Odom a crackhead, he mocked Stephon Marbury's mental health issue referencing him eating chapstick, disrespected the Nigerian team by purposefully mispronouncing their last names, and said that Shohei Otani could never be the face of the MLB because he was Asian, just to name a few more.
