Have always loved this song. Love some of the phrases, like, "takes a ladder, steals the stars from the sky; puts on Sinatra and starts to cry." And "got the sun on my shoulders and my toes in the sand; woman's left me for some other man; but I don't care, I'll just dream and stay tan; toss up my heart and see where it lands." Another good one from Stephen is "It Might Be You," the theme from the movie "Tootsie."

I am commenting from the future! I really dig this song, because I believe we all just keep going, even when we run out of gas, metaphorically speaking! Some of us just quit altogether, sadly, hopefully they have peace, and others keep enduring all the agony, confusion and everything life throws at you! Who knows why some can somehow tolerate all the challenges, and why some can't! That's all I've got! Goodbye!

Since you are heading towards the late 70's and you like dancing a lot, how about "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" by Leo Sayer. I think this song's alright but not great either he wrote and recorded two songs for the 1978 movie Animal House that starred John Belushi a song called Dream Girl and the Animal House theme song that I like a lot. He was on a Saturday Night Live episode from the late 70's and did a skit with John Belushi and singer Art Garfunkel where John's character chose the people that got backstage at a Kiss concert on that episode when Stephen played himself and John asked what song did you have a hit with and Stephen sang On and On and John Belushi said I hate that song in the skit

Stephen Bishop has a much better song that was released as a single a few years later called "Send A Little Love My Way". His first 3 albums had a lot of great songs but On & On wasn't really one of them, and unfortunately that's the one most people know.
